No Trade Clauses 2012/13: players signed prior to UFA

When a team re-signs a pending UFA prior to the player becoming a free agent on July 1st, that team is not allowed to trade that player until the All-Star Break of the next season. The fine for trading such a player prior to the ASG is one full year's salary, to be deducted immediately from the signing team's account balance.

See below for the list of players affected this season.

(From Hasnain): "I see lots of board posting related to Trade Block. Please make sure that the following players are not traded prior to the 2013 ALL STAR GAME, as they were UFA signee. I see that couple of players has been traded but not sure if the GM were told about the penalties:

With Anaheim and Ottawa I'm not sure either GM was aware of this rule. Well I'm pretty positive Jeff Miller wasn't, not sure about Roy. This was discussed in the group chat a little the other day and for a team like the Senators would be crippling.

Eek. I didn't know but accept my fate. It's too bad we don't have an extra column for this under players info .....

We can't edit the format or output of the sim, so this thread is the response to that need. And yes, it's coming after the fact for both you and Miller, so I expect accommodation will made. For Josh in Washington, that's a tougher situation, as he signed the player to the contract.

This money has now been deducted. Note that it's been removed from Sens & Ducks bank account - but because neither knew the rule admin will make a decision regarding these deductions. Stay tuned.

BTW shame on the GM's who traded for these players for not knowing or informing the new GM's...
