Of course not a 1st and prospect, but a 2nd and a prospect?, sounds fair to me.

People forgot that sharks fans called clowe the future a few years back after his playoff performance.

Well if he's struggling in the year we're acquiring him in it kind of does matter. Apparently he's playing with an injury.

Exactly. He's playing through an injury and has sucked all year, so why would we trade for him if we want someone to make an impact this season/playoffs?

BTW, does anyone know why he's played through the injury and not taken the time to rest?

Handedness has nothing to do with our scoring. But thanks for missing the point...

Really? From what I've been told our scoring is bad because we don't have a left handed center who can win defensive zone face offs.

Even if he leaves it's a 2nd + 3rd. Clowe will definitely get more than that, even if he's playing like garbage. Murray was also playing like garbage.

Not interested in paying what San Jose would ask for him.

Wasn't the condition on the Pens making it to the second round or something? I thought that was it, but could be mistaken.

On Clowe, stay the hell away. The guy has sucked this year and is injured ... if he wasn't a rental he might have that sort of value based on his potential to rebound next season, but as it sits now you'd basically be overpaying for a couple of months of injury-riddled Ryan Clowe.

We either go big or stay put.

Bring in Iggy or if possible Jagr.

Otherwise I see Gillis acquiring someone like Boyd Gordon.

Other than that, we do nada.

I expect at least one deal, and I would not be at all surprised if we see the goalie deal happen sometime this week. The way things are shaping up this could be the deadline of the goalies, once one moves I expect that there will be several soon after.

To me those are both "Rangers sign Holik" type moves, and I would rather we went in a different direction.

These will be our forward lines for the playoffs. Just prepare yourselves so you're not too disappointed.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Raymond-Shroeder-Hansen
Higgins-Kesler-Weise
Sestito-Lapierre-Kassian

Swap Kassian and Weise and that lineup is better than the one that's shut out the Kings twice.

RHD. Gillis is almost certain to acquire RHD for depth.

that group is solid, add a miraculously healthy booth and switch weise/kassian order and i'm not sure why forward depth is a problem

Depth is not the problem, it's secondary scoring.

We need a Mikael Samuleson (sp?) type player, if one was available.
Experienced, a bit gritty, can score/actually shoots.

I still contend his loss before 2011 SCF was a major blow to our lineup in terms of secondary scoring/PP woes.
