I am wondering if anyone has any video or thoughts on Hudson Elynuik, a 6-2 175 centre who is playing for Kootenay in the WHL Playoffs. Considering he is a late 97 who doesn't turn 16 until next December, he has great size and I have heard that they are expecting big things from him.
I have seen him in both WHL and in aaa. He's been solid all year. Gets physical. Bit of a choppy stride. Smarts are coming along. Can really play a lot of roles. Like his size but needs to bulk up. Should be a good hockey player
Hudson Elynuik is no doubt a great hockey player. He got called up to Kootenay at the end of the season this year and has done quite well for playing against Edmonton (best eastern team), Calgary (second best), and Lethbridge. Elynuik has a big frame that he will grow into, just in the last year hes put on about 25 pounds or so. I think he still needs to get settled into the WHL routine, but next year I wouldnt be suprised if hes flanking Reinhart.
saw him today for the first time, strong on the puck, good hands but needs to get stronger on his feet, getting pushed when he was hit, and was on the slower side, but that's not unreasonable for someone as young as him playing 20 year olds in the whl playoffs. showed he can keep up with the game speed of the whl at a young age, he should be pretty good for years to come.
