NYR/MIN offseason

get

Michael Del Zotto

get

Devin Setoguchi
3rd round pick 2014

The Rangers have no pure snipers after Nash. Callahan is the next best goal scorer, and that won't cut it. Moore is a solid puck mover, he can replace MDZ. The Wild get their 2nd pairing LHD, Stoner was atrocious last night. This is probably only done if Cullen retires after this year though. It also makes room for the rookies.

Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Zuccarello-Richards-Setoguchi
Clowe-Brassard-Callahan
Kreider-Miller-Boyle/Powe

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-Stralman
Moore-McIlrath

Parise-Koivu-Pominville
Zucker-Granlund-Coyle
PMB-Brodziak-Clutterbuck
Rupp-Konopka-Mitchell (Assuming Heatley is bought out)

Suter-Brodin
Del Zotto-Spurgeon
Stoner-Gilbert

By us I assume you mean the Rangers (?). Just for discussions sake what kind of player is Del Zotto?
Seto is fast and streaky. But, when he's on he scores in bunches. He likes to play the faster game so playing with people that like to slow it down (Heatley, Brodziak) he is less effective.

MDZ could get more than Seto (who has been good, especially as a 2-way guy, but not as a sniper) and a low pick.

Not good for the Rags, and with how The Gooch has been playing this year and his value to the Wild I'd say no both ways.

I think New York keeps Del Zotto and approaches Colorado again about O'Reilly this time next season.

It was bad on the Ranger board. Still bad here.

I've never liked Setoguchi and Del Zotto fills a much more important need on our team.

Just absolute awful.

No. Not even nearly enough return value, IMO.

Plus, if you move Girardi/Staal for upgrade, improved cap space, high pick, you need MDZ.

Another awful proposal by the OP. I'd say the Wikd need a more defensive d-man like Staal to help cover for Gilbert. Plus I wanna keep Seto.

MDZ for Zucker and a 1st. That's what I'd consider.

doubt it.. the way stepans been playing, way better then ROR.. all depends if they buy richards out but i doubt it..MDZ is worth more and is on a sweetheart contract.. We also just got Brass and Miller and lindberg coming through the ranks..Slats wants nothing to do with ROR after that ridiculous offer sheet he was given ...

NY is not trading away any of there top 4 d.. only way is they can't sign them and they walk.. or we cant afford all of them and then rangers will make trades...

Everyone on HFNYR knows how I pick on Del Zotto and I even give this an emphatic NO

Good trade for both, but better for the Wild.
