Ott to Pittsburgh

Pens got better but don't seem to be quite there yet. This might be enough. What would it take for Buffalo to go through with it?

Since you no longer have your first.... Would take 2 of your D prospects ...

You're not dealing with Feaster here.

the only reason they'd be not quite there yet is if MAF plays like he did in last year's playoffs. Ott is not going to fix that.

With Darcy Regier as the GM - Not happening

If Jay Feaster was the GM - Any NCAA prospect and a 2nd, assuming the NCAA spec is American.

I don't see how recreating a recent Dallas Stars roster would be beneficial to the Pens.

Ott and Regehr then?

Kunitz Crosby Iginla
Morrow Malkin Neal
Cooke Ott Kennedy
Dupuis Sutter Bennett

Martin Letang
Regehr Orpik
Murray Niskanen

Seems good enough to come out of the east, at least on paper. Pens can give up the assets and still have more than enough prospect depth.

Buffalo's still not interested in moving Ott. We could give you Regehr though. For a prospects and a pick.

FWIW, OP is a Caps fan not a Pens fan.

I'd welcome Ott but it's unlikely that the Pens would want to give up what it would take to get him. I suspect other than some minor moves (maybe shipping out some extra bodies to recoup some picks) Shero is probably done.

All it means is there is no reason for Buffalo to deal Ott unless its an offer they can't refuse.

They already have Cooke, why do they need Ott?

Where would he realistically fit? While he might be an upgrade over Cooke, he wouldn't be enough of one to pay a big price for him. And we wouldn't pay a big price to put him on the 4th line. Honestly Ott isn't what the Pens need. They need another 4th line center who can win draws. Someone like Gordon or the likes. And honestly that's about it.

Kunitz - Crosby - Iginla
Morrow - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Sutter - Dupuis
Glass - Vitale - TK
Jeffery - Adams
