Very very small shot at playoffs now, still fun to win very now and then.
A small shot with 16 games left is a helluva lot better than no real shot. If we keep scoring goals early in games, I think it's a lot more likely we at least are in a battle in the final 5 games.

Oilers win, so we're making the playoffs, yes? Good to hear.

If only Khabi were 10 years younger.

Great game by Khabby, glad they capitalized on the mistakes but that was not a good game.

The bag stays. Good win though. Maybe the bags are good luck? Haha

Tonight was totally bagworthy masked by the final score. They might as well have been the Eberbulin Hallzies tonight because those 3 were the whole show for the Oilers.
However, it's good to see Eberle break of his slump. That was much needed, i tip my bag to him.

Back in the hunt. Must win thursday at home with Columbus. They can redeem themselves on home ice. Unforunately, this looks like the best line up we can ice with a winger at centre and a 40 year old goalie. I say ride Khabi till the end of the year if necessary (except back to back situations). Hopefully Hemsky and Gagner can start clicking so we can get some secondary scoring.

I've been thinking about the Oilers chances of signing DeKesler, its been tweeted that Katz called him. It's also been tweeted that the Blues are one of the teams that DeKesler is thinking about signing with. So if he watched tonight, at least the Oilers won...

Can only help the Oilers slim chance right?

If not start tanking for Jones.

We weren't as bad as the shot clock indicates.

Yakupov earned a diver tag to add to his other classless accomplishments. i expect a thread on this at the main board, maybe there's already one, couldn't be bothered to check.

Glad we got the win, good to see the kid line and Habby come through in a big way for us! Hopefully this gets Eberle back to form.

Khabibulin stopped more shots tonight than the Soviets stopped protestors.

They just forgot to blow the lead in the third, this young team will make mistakes like these every once in a while... But we don't really risk making the playoffs thanks to those few clutch losses last week, so it's ok. Just let it go and focus on the next game...

Didn't get to see the game but I take it it was a sloppy win that we didn't fully deserve minus khabi?

Were Ebs Hall and Nuge as good as they look in the stats?

Could be best goaltending game all season for any goalie this year.

Good goaltending and the top line scoring and we win.

Same bad puck management, low shot totals and possessions and unable to answer physically and defensively. Tonight's game was proof that our 23 man roster is not up to snuff. Our defenseman and bottom 6 are not good enough to win consistently. We started the third with two of our long standing veteran Oilers in the box.

Games like this kill any momentum of replacing the people in charge.. sigh

Great game by Khabibulin. Nice to see them not fold even though St.Louis was playing them really tough.

Despite the shot clock, I don't think St. Louis dominated us that much today.

I wonder what the time of possession was for each team.

Also, nice to see us score without any power plays.

It is good that we are "in the mix" for a playoff spot and even if we don't make it i would like to finish somewhere like 11th people talk about draft picks i am thinking more about pride and a winning culture.
With 16 games left we'd need to do something special to make it, 9 or 10 wins would do it i think.
I hope we do stay in the hunt all the way the way to seasons end

Are you talking about after he blocked that shot that led to his goal? He was icing his wrist for that.

Ride Khabi a few more games. He played fantastic tonight and is the reason we won. Huge difference in shots as per usual, but I'll take it.

One of those games that I'm not sure what makes me happier, us winning or them losing. Boy is there a lot of dirt bags on that team.

Nuge will become Zetterberg. He just needs to get stronger so he can do it all game, every game. Good on Brown mixing it up with Jackman.

Everybody hates Potter. I don't. First line played like it, especially early on.

lol @ St louis. They took us for granted and we skated in and stole two big points right in front of their home fans, with the playoffs still in doubt.

It wasn't a masterpiece but it was a statement.

Gutsy effort. Good on ya lads.
