Everyone keeps complaining that we need BETTER DEFENSE help on the 2nd pairing.... but then people keep posting "Get MAB, Get McBain, etc."

These guys wouldn't know defense if it bit them in the ass. They are OFFENSE first players, and that is NOT what our 2nd pairing defense needs.

well if you were talking about just playing smart defense, then i agree. MAB would, however, be a great addition to the powerplay.

Umm... You know perfectly well Spurgeon can be physical too, and his shot might not be a cannon but at least it's accurate. #1 task for a point shot? Hit the ****ing net.

don't get all pissy. saying someone makes Spurgeon look like Weber could be taken a few different ways. MAB was more physical than Spurge (as i hinted at--more stupid about it) and his shot was quite a bit better than spurgeons. more accurate AND vastly harder. I'm not a huge Spurge fan but there's no way i'd let MAB see more minutes per night than him.

I think Dumba will be a top 4 defenseman. Solid defenseman, maybe a bit like Burns without the size. But he won't be a special defenseman like Trouba.

Can we please just implement hybrid or no-touch icing right now?

Ugh.

Hate to see a player get severely injured on an icing call. Not worth having your career put at risk. Hopefully there's a rule change soon

The sad truth is, that they will only change the rule once a superstar player gets seriously injured.

Remember Fletcher's interview two weeks ago when he talked about how hybrid icing needs to be implemented. He said "Are we just gonna wait until another player gets injured?" Now look what happened tonight. Wake the **** up NHL!!

Yep. Guy nearly loses an eye, NHLPA still won't require visors. Three guys break their legs, NHLPA still not pushing hybrid icing.

You can't save these guys from themselves.

If the lockout taught us anything, the NHLPA and the players and "leaders" who belong to it are completely dense. Should be no surprise.
