I'm trying to figure out where to begin my Euro trip and have narrowed it down to these two finalist cities.
If you like museums, trying new food and such, Paris is better.
London was kinda bland, apart from the War museum and the Chunnel

Thanks. I definitely like museums (for the day) and new food. Love a good nightlife too. Paris does appear to have a lot of things that interest me such as Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, etc.

Went to Good Friday service today (Roman Catholic) for the first time in my life. Good way for me to spend the day. Will probably go biking tonight with my friends.

Watching "Canning Randy" episode of How I Met Your Mother

I heard from a friend that the line to the Eiffel Tower is 8 hours long.

It felt like it took forever when I was there, didn't time it though. It's something that you gotta see if you go there though. I just remember so many people trying to sell me little light up mini helicopters or something.

Haven't they been at war for the last 60 years? Regardless, I don't see this ending well for them.

I've only read a few things about it, would be interested to hear from someone with more knowledge about it.

I'm a history nerd, so I strangely retained all of this from high school history.

To be honest, NA history bores the heck out of me.

I highly doubt there will be an actual conflict at all. Too much at stake to risk open conflict; I think both China and the US don't want to start a war again.

I don't find it as interesting, but there was a definite emphasis on it throughout my schooling so it's been kinda pounded into my brain.

I think I've forgotten most of my Canadian history; it was just too boring and dull for me. My WWI and WWII history is impeccable though.

well i think there is going to have to be a conclusion at some time (who knows when,) and i would be surprised if it happened diplomatically.

south korea passed this tax recently so they must think something is going to happen if they are making contingencies to help out the impoverished north koreans if unification occurs

Couple of things...

One:
When there is a power struggle and the Kims' need to consolidate his power, they always resort to threatening war.
This might be one of those incidences.
That is why Kim Jong-un continues to test nuclear weapons and even launched a rocket...
He will get massive points among both the people and his supporters.

Two:
This is what the Kims' always do, when they want aid from the West.
They will increase military movements, and they will even threaten attacks.
The recent actions, however, may actually be the furthest they have even taken with their threats...
Still, I see it as part of the pattern.

Three:
When North Korea actually strikes, it will be silent.
The Bombardment of Yeonpyeong in 2010 is the most recent example.
The louder they are, the lest chance there is of a war.

Finally, four:
Before Kim Jong-un, China, North Korea's closest and only ally, usually watches afar with glee whenever North Korea antagonizes the West.
Then, when the time is right, they will step up and act as a go-between.
In reality, China, in no way, wants a war.
They are only a river away from North Korea, and if a war ever breaks out, millions of already hungry refugees will flood into the borders, which many doubt China can even handle.
Plus, if a war ever breaks out, the U.S. will station missiles and defense systems in Japan and South Korea.
That is the last thing China wants to see.
That is why China will do everything in its power to stop the Kims.

From what I heard, part of the reason why North Korea is being so bold is also because China is also holding off supplies and aids to North Korea.
This is North Korea's way of pressuring both China and the West.

China is also dealing with a lot of potential conflicts in the South China Sea.
I really doubt they want to have a 2 prong war.

This is what I have gathered from my knowledge and various sources.
Feel free to correct me or add more.

I think it was more of a response to the North Korean attacks a year before.
Along with the bombardment of an island, the North Koreans apparently also sank a South Korean battleship shortly before.
In both incidences, the South Korean response was rather mild.
I think they passed it to show that they were serious.

Well...
Florida Gulf Coast is out.
It had been a fun run...
And they made it interesting in the beginning...
But they were outclassed...
Especially in the second.

I still got Louisville.
Don't fail me now.
