I'm not surprised mark is in last, but it's not to do with mark's team, and more to do with the fact that the Bob Cole division was ridiculously strong. All 4 teams could've finished anywhere, IMO.

EDIT: I'm also not terribly surprised to see myself in 3rd. The two teams ahead of me are also quite strong.

I agree, the Bob Cole division was the closest and toughest for me to rank.

It's also based on your assumption that the only reason you finished last was because a bunch of people voted you last only for spite.

I had Cincy in 1st, but that is the strongest division in the league. Still, there is some bias against Mark for him to be voted 4th with that team IMHO.

When i do a minutes chart, do people prefer to see the players sorted by lines or by total time on ice? And, if a checking line ends up playing the most overall, shall they top the chart?

I think it's easiest to read and understand if you just do it line by line.

Is there anything to be gained from explaining how the PK will work if forced to play a diamond? I dont see many GM:s doing this. It seems like much is left to the imagination of the voters.

If you can specifically say why your PK style can exploit a weakness in your opponent's PP, then I would go into it.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone focus on the style of his PK that much before. I think there's generally more variety in PP formation.

Of course it is, but still players are presented as:

XXX-XXX
XXX-XXX

Or in this case as a line: XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX

Obviously it's hard to exploit a weakness in an opponents PP when they do not specify how they're going to play. That's why i see a need to present different PK-formations.

I don't know where I'd have voted you. Your division was super competitive. For all you know, the difference from 1st to 4th was 10 points. that's what happened to you last year as well.

I could be wrong, but I would think our division was one of the more tightly voted ones in the draft. The fact that they finished 4th overall tells me there was quite a lot of vote-splitting in our division.
There was, indeed. I had Mystery 1st in the division, Hershey 2nd, Cincinnati 3rd and Seattle 4th. I think it was very close between the top two, and like Eagle, I don't see how one could justify ranking Cincinnati last, but this is the will of the voters.

Great division no doubt. Let me just say i did not agree with the outcome, except just the fact that it was tight which gives me pease.

I'm trying to finish making a list of good notable retired NHLers and I have a few questions. I was looking at the top 500 list here from the draft and three names I came across I'm not familiar with are Joe Klukay, Dick Graham, and Dan Marcotte.

After looking the three of them up on hockey-reference, I found that their stats don't really show anything impressive about them outside of Graham who won a Selke once so I'm wondering if these guys really are top 500 or 600 ever NHLers and anything else about them.

Also, they weren't drafted here but where would Valeri Kamensky and dman Brad Maxwell rank? Would they be far-off from that top 500 list? I see that Draper was taken at 510th for example and I might be a biased Avs fan here but surely Kamensky was a better overall hockey player if you also include non-NHL accomplishments than Draper no?

In the ATD, sometimes players are taken more to fill a role on our teams than strictly in order of "best players of all time".

So it is a bit rough as a top players of all time list but in a lot of cases a decent indication of where players are relative to one another.

For more information on the players we have assembled bios of look in the stickied Master Thread

For example:

Don Marcotte

Dirk Graham

For basic info, google a player's name, followed by the word "legends." You'll find links to two different bios of most players that way - Legends of Hockey, which is affiliated with the Hockey Hall of Fame, and Greatest Hockey Legends, the website of hockey blogger Joe Pelletier.

For more detailed information, check out their ATD bios like BraveCanadian suggested.

I just noticed that bios from this year are already in there too?

Wow.

Is BBS keeping it up or are the mods helping too?

7 days makes voting day for the first round on Monday - does that work for everyone?

Pretty sure it's just BBS. I think he's slowly adding the 2013 profiles - there are still some missing, but some of them are definitely there already.
