Horror movies ads on early evening TV

I used to watch horror movies all the time, but finally quit when I realized I was getting jumpy from them. Now I'm quietly watching a hockey game at 5, 6pm MST and these long ads for what is obviously a super creepy movie pop up, almost like a mini horror movie. Shouldn't be allowed on a general channel at that time of day, at least with the amount of detail they show, in my opinion. I just want to relax and watch hockey, not view a "screamer"

Dude it's not the 1960s anymore. They can put pretty much whatever they want on TV minus a few rules. Watch one of those doctor or crime type TV dramas, just gruesome.

Awful commercials like the Fathead one make me squirm and scream, myself.

I agree with you. Horror movies are just not for everyone. No need to show it that early. The viewers shouldn't be children and adolescents anyway.

9am this morning skytv here in the UK had several ads that featured REAL starving children that looked on step away from deaths door and was far more shocking then anything that appears in Movies ads

If you don't like it, change the channel.

Besides, that damn tracheotomy anti-smoking commercial, or those commercials with abused animals are much worse.

the worst is the work out or get into shape infomercials when you do some research and find out all these "Case studies" are in fact either professional trainers or athletes that competed at high levels for several years and got out of shape by either having kids or getting a real job--those are the ones I hate

Horror movie previews=starving Third World children charity commercials. Seems a bit of a blur going on there. I'm going to have to think about this one.

The ads should and easily could be shown later in the evening, but I doubt television advertisers give a flying **** if they think they are hitting the right demographic. I wouldn't think that collectively those guys would be among the more socially responsible groups around.

I have no problem with them advertising horror films, but at least have 2 versions. One version they can run during the hours you mentioned, since there are still kids watching.. and one, which could have more violence/sex/blood, to run after 11pm when most stations remove their "boundaries"..
