Mtl and St. Louis + Mtl and Phoenix

Canadiens have certain needs and the best players to fill then come from the blues and coyotes

To montreal: Stewart
To montreal: Yandle or Klesla (or both if a roster dman is of interest)

Only untouchables are pretty obvious
Pk
Price
Both gallys
Patches
Tinordi
Beaulieu

Apart from that if the right offer is made the rest can be moved for a smart trade

Proposals? Ideas? Discuss

If Beaulieu and Tinordi are untouchable, you won't get anywhere close to Yandle or Stewart

Subban is a RD, diaz as well, and both bouillon and gorges can play on the right effectively. Doesn't matter

I know the Blues want to keep Stewart, but can they afford to keep him, they are not a cap spending team, and have a few key RFA guys they need to sign.

Yes we can easily resign all of them. We were in on Carle, so we know our budget is about 4ish million higher than we are spending. With McDonald, Langenbrunner, and Elliott gone, we will have more than enough money.

Pietrangelo, Berglund, Shattenkirk, and Stewart are all RFA, Pietrangelo, and Stewart are both going to get 5-6M each. And other than 4.7 cap hit, nothing big is coming off the books.

Again I'm not saying its impossible, but you gotta think someone might move.

I know there is cap space, but its all about how much ownership is willing to pay, it might be a mistake but their salary this season is about 50M, so not sure what it will be next year don't see how its going to change a whole lot unless new ownership spends the money.

McDonald is big.

Pietrangelo will be 6.5, Shattenkirk will be 4.5-5, Stewart will be 4.25-4.75, and Berglund will be just under 4. Backload the contracts like we usually do and we are fine.

No way Stewart signs under 5 and shattenkirk either... Would you willingly take less money? And okay my untouchables was a little off I meant to say only one can move so like if you want Tinordi then beaulieu is no longer available and vice versa

People said similar things about Oshie and Perron. HF underrates Armstrong's negotiation skills. He also signed Jackman and Polak cheaper than we thought. Backes is also getting paid below market. No reason to think it's all of a sudden going to change.

I really think he is going to ask for a huge contract 5-6M

This is his 4th contract, so he wants that long term contract, he is also close to being a UFA, so your going to buy a lot of UFA years making it cost even more. Where as for Oshie and Perron, Blues only signed them for RFA years.

He can ask for it, doesn't mean he will get it. The only way he gets that is if he continues his PPG pace and has a big playoffs. I think he ends up around 40 points, which would put him on a mid-high 60s point pace over a 82 game season. That won't get him the big bucks.

But, out of the whole group, if Armstrong has issues negotiating everyone under the team's budget, Stewart seems right now as the more likely candidate to be moved. His RFA rights this summer would be worth quite a bit. Stewart should not be traded this season as the Blues are having an ok year (compared to last year), with things coming together well as we get closer to the playoffs. So why make any changes other than buying? This summer we'll see what happens. But if Stewart is going onto the market this year...I sure as heck hope Bergevin gets in on the talks.

That won't get him the big bucks in St. Louis but I'd be comfortable giving a 5 year 25 million$ offer sheet for him we lose what? What is most likely a late 1st and 3rd or nothing at all just make another team pay more then they want too

If anybody leaves St. Louis, I believe it will be David Perron.

Stewart wanted to stay in St. Louis this last summer and took less than his qualifying offer to prove himself this season. He'll want a good deal, but I wouldn't be jumping to conclusions that he is going to be demanding this and that.

Oshie is a year older than Stewart, so his position last season is identical to that of Stewart this season... except the cap will be dropping $6m. Not sure what you are talking about there.

Either way, the Blues can afford to keep Stewart, Berglund, Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk. Plus add to their roster. We just won't be in the market for free agents.

He doesn't watch ANYONE play, he just makes the worst trade proposals of our entire fan base.

I can understand Stewart being untouchable. Would love to get him, but the price would, deservedly, be too high.
