Man, talk about a disaster. The guy just can't keep away from the IR list.
I hope Rosie Colvin doesn't get the Marty Lapointe come to Boston and spend most of the time injured bug- it's frustrating to see guys who spend their careers healthy come to Boston and have the kind of bad luck that prevents us from seeing them at their best.

yeah... the Pats are a hurtin' big time...
I am glad Marty is getting it taken care of now though.. It just seems whenever a guy goes for "could play with it " approach , it doesn't work out all that well.
Once again.. another chance for some kid to grab that brass ring..
Are you listening Andy Hilbert ?
Well, to me it sounds as if he had the same thing done that i just went through, and today is 2 weeks post op for me. i am skating about 15 minutes a day twice3 a day and tomorrow i was going to play in a no contact pick up game for an hour or so. it isnt a serious thing at all and the wait time is actually just letting the incisions that the surgeon made with the tools heal and for swelling to go down, and then deal with the atrophy that occurs with a week or so of non use(which is far more substantial than you would ever believe) I started skating at 10 days, and have expect to have regained full use by about 3 weeks, and i plan on retrning to my mens league at that time. I am sure the rigors of the NHL are a bit more concern worthy thatn those of the Biddeford Men's Industrial League, but within 4 weeks ML should be back and raring to go. If his knee was feeling at all like mine, be glad that he did get this taken care of when he did, causei put it off so i wouldnt miss a month of golf season, and it got to the point that i couldnt take even one running step. 14 days after surgery i can take a running step again. ML will be fine and much better off for doing this now.

There are 2 approaches to this one is they cut out a big chunk which it sounds like they did or they cut off a chunk and try repair it.......if they cut out a big chunk I say he isn't out for even a month ......they did this to me they cut it out you take some T3 and after the swelling is down it is 100% better than when you went in.......if they take out a small peice he has to do re-hab but when I went in I think they qouted me longer than a month re-hab......so I say it will be less than or longer than the month depending on what they did......also this is an injury that would have just got worse and worse as his knee would have locked up more and more....Rumpy
I was hoping for Sammy to get his wrist fixed ASAP last season, but the decision to operate seemed to take forever while he tried to play with the pain....next thing you know he's rushing things to make it back for the playoffs.
Count me as one who still thinks Lapointe can hit 20 goals this year and be very effective. Especially with a playmaking center (not Rolston).
