we could be seeing a Toronto/Boston playoff series, how good will that be?
Thronton, Lucic vs Orr, McLaren
Whoever makes out of that series is going to be banged up team.
Orr and McLaren aren't going to see nearly as much ice time in the playoffs as Lucic though. Even Thornton - on Boston's 4th line - sees ~10 minutes a game. In terms of isolated fights, maybe they're even but on the whole the Bruins are still a tougher, more hard-hitting team than Toronto.
I wonder what kind of salary Kadri is going to be looking for after this season? One of the perils of having an ELC expire after a shortened season is it's a lot harder to tell if you've got an elite player or a guy on a hot streak. Buffalo will be going through the same thing with Hodgson, though to a lesser degree.
Not me. I would have taken that deal in a heartbeat and argued the point to great lengths around here. Be shocked if Luongo returns anything better than even the value of that package in the summer. Hate to make posts like this, but arguing the merit of Toronto's players was hard for me!
