Essentially this.

But Rich Clune is totally acceptable to anyone who remembers Game 5 Vancouver vs. LA 2010.

Just an embarrassing display by him. Ask anyone that remembers and they'll tell you why, but because you are impatient I'll summarize...

-Luongo covers puck, 3 seconds later Clune drapes himself on Luongo unassisted
-Goads Rick Rypien into a rather meaningless fight towards the end of the game, gets put in his place
-Among other douchebaggery that includes running around that whole series trying to be a tough guy while overstepping many hockey codes in the process.

Nugent Hopkins is one out of spite. Any person that grew in Vancouver that isn't a Canucks fan is...suspect. Also that hat-trick shouldn't have counted ******* it!

Doesn't mean if I saw him in a bar I wouldn't buy him a beer out of respect if he let me.

You'd just spit in it before you gave it to him, wouldn't you.

No...spite is a sin.

The beer would be fine. It would just be a beer out of respect and not of liking. In fact I could probably beat up on him. Probably. He's an NHLer so he's in great shape. That said he's 5 inches taller than me and 10 pounds heavier than me (probably overstated) and just one month and one week older than me. At the least I'd say it would be interesting match-up but I'd think he'd probably hold me at bay for awhile and by the time I'm burnt out he'd outlast me and ultimately beat me. In his rookie year I think I'd stand a greater chance.

Interesting that the big three factors in the Hodgson-Kassian trade have had recent issues.

-Hodgson demoted to 4th line and benched for portions of games
-Kassian sent down to the minors for a little tough love
-Foligno the guy the Sabres had in the organization that made Kassian expendable was benched last night.

It's almost as if they are a bunch of kids or something and perhaps we shouldn't be drawing any conclusions about trade just yet.

No, that could never be it. They're all expected to be perfect human beings and what is this kids nonsense you speak of?

Randy Carlyle really put his foot in his mouth re: concussions...

http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/blog/ey...es-concussions

Quote:
“I have a theory on concussions,” he said. “I think the reason there's so much more of them — obviously the impact and the size of the equipment and the size of the player — but there's another factor: everyone wears helmets, and under your skull when you have a helmet on, there's a heat issue.

“Everyone sweats a lot more, the brain swells. The brain is closer to the skull. Think about it. Does it make sense? Common sense?” said Carlyle, who said he'd never talked to a doctor about his premise, which he was introduced to by Jim Pappin, the former Leaf who also played his career helmet free.

“I don't know if it's true, but that would be my theory. Heat expands and cold contracts. The brain is like a muscle, it's pumping, it swells, it's a lot closer to the outside of the skull.”

Randy should have worn a helmet during his playing days. It's starting to affect his reasoning skills.

Considering how crappy a high percentage of Canuck fans think the team is, it should come as no surprise when other fans feel the same way.

The Canucks roster is amazing, but because they've struggled to play as a team for the past while many feel other teams with lesser players that are working well together are better. The whole 5 years down the road prognostication is simply an exercise in which team presently has the younger players. Never mind how the teams are built or run ...

Jokinen's terrible. Takes so many bad angle shots. Reminds me of Booth.
