Realistic Dream Playoff Match-ups

What are your realistic playoff series this year?

TOR/MTL is tops on my list but tbh TOR/WPG and OTT/MTL is great stuff too. BOS/PITS in the later rounds is another good one in the east.

In the west DET/MIN and ANA/LA could be great 1st round series.

Islanders/Penguins on the 20th anniversary of our last playoff round victory(and in all honesty If the Islanders make the playoffs it most likely will be 8th). lol

Canucks/Wild.

Make it happen somehow... Would love to relive the rivalry from the past.

Any two Canadian teams meeting in the East would be great.

In the West, I think a Chicago and St. Louis series could be really great hockey.

Yes please. Can't find enough reasons to root for the Wild. Plus playoffs in Minny vs any Canadian team(Van in particular) would be amazing to see.

In my ideal East, with what could reasonably happen.

Pit - Ott [somehow Ott drops]
Mtl - Nyr
Win - Njd
Bos - Tor

Leafs beat Bruins get rid of demons...

Next round

Mtl - Ott
Win - Tor

All Canadian match up, sets up an ECF of...

Tor - Mtl

Goes to 7 games, Leafs win in OT, play Detroit in cup finals.

ANA/LA would be sick, they definitely have it out for each other. Hawks/Nucks probably won't meet in the first round at least. I think if Columbus sneaks in they could give the Ducks or Hawks some trouble. Their team D and goaltending have been something else this year.

I hope the flames win every game for rest of year, make playoffs and then get to the cup.

Pens vs flames

Ok, now I remember some of that. Nonetheless, a friend who is a life long Canucks fan just told me that it is one of those one-sided rivalries. They really never understood why Wild fans considered them rivals.

While I would love to see this, you clearly overlooked one key word in the title.

I still think Boston will eventually win the division, although Montreal has stuck around much longer then I expected and fully deserve being where they are... that being said I hope they fall into 4th, Winnipeg holds onto their division, and then some combination of Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa occurs in the first round. Great for the rivalries and great for the second round!

A Leafs fan predicting a Sens victory over the Penguins?

I like the cut of your jib.

Not a fan of either team, but I'm just hoping for a Chicago vs. Pittsburgh final. If both those teams are playing as well as we know they can, that could be the best final we've seen in a long time.

@hero: You emphasized too much on the word 'dream' and not enough on the word 'realistic'.

My matchup is simple. Leafs v/s Jets, Habs v/s Sens. Followed by Leafs v/s Habs in 2nd round.

First round matchup have decent chance of happening. For Habs/Leafs in 2nd, both of them have to win + one of Boston or Pittsburgh has to be eliminated in round 1. So that isn't that realistic.
