Khokhlachev is a pretty good prospect, don't get me wrong but Bartkowski is nothing special and could be an alright bottom-pairing or seventh defenseman some day at best I think. Then the first isn't even guaranteed and if it is it'll be a late one, although in a deep draft.

All that for the man that was the face of the Calgary Flames franchise for the last sixteen years seems like a very minimal and disappointing return. It leaves me wanting more. I love it for the Bruins and that sucks to say. It's a hard and emotional day for the Flames and Flames fans though, regardless of the return but it's the beginning of a new and hopefully brighter era in Calgary. This isn't something that anyone there wanted to happen but it had to.

Again, thankfully this whole saga is finally over.
Didn't realize the conditional is reported to be in 2014. Even worse.

LOL No.

Feaster takes a risk and trades the franchise player for a defenseman who is a fringe AHLer/NHLer 3rd pairing guy at best (I've seen a lot of him. He's from Pittsburgh.). Who knows about Koko? and get no 1st round pick for the risk of losing Iginla.

Sounds like a PR nightmare to me.

I can't believe the Calgary owners agreed to this. Bartkowski and Koko aren't worth the PR nightmare this is going to create for fans.

Give me a ****ing break, the value would have nearly double closer to the deadline when teams get desperate, this is a **** show for feaster.

he got bluffed and took the bait.

Feaster should try to get a job with the Hurricanes. There's a great BBQ buffet on every block in the southeast.

Is Feaster hoping to be hired as Chiarelli's gofer next season with this trade? Terrible trade for Calgary. Feaster's next trade better be for some resume writing software. His phone is going to be ringing off the hook with GM calling asking if he wants to sell anymore assets.

I'm not so sure Khokhlachev and Morrow are that, that far apart.

From what all Pens fans were saying, this was true a couple years ago. Now they had 2 D prospects rated higher

I bet Iggy will end up resiging with the Flames. I can't picture him as a Bruins for too long. This is most likely just a rental deal.

I guess Iginla possibly returning in July is the only glimmer of hope that can be taken from this. Ryan Smyth...

The condition on the pick could be dependent on how far the Bruins go in the playoffs, as opposed to Iginla re-signing with the Bruins. It has happened before.

There's some real overreacting going on in this thread. The Flames got one of the 3 Bruins prospects they needed to get (Koko, Spooner and Subban are the Bruins top 3 before a clear drop off) and a 1st rounder. I guess you can freak out that McKenzie has an unconfirmed report that it's conditional if you want but I'll wait to see the conditions. I'm surprised by the conditional aspect too but it could easily be something like "If Iginla returns to the Flames as a FA next year, we give up a 2nd rounder instead of a 1st" and the Bruins protect themselves from a situation where the Flames make out like crazy.

And even if it's contingent on Iginla re-signing w/the Bruins, the odds are very high he will. Chiarelli is not a fan of rentals, every move he makes that costs him legit assets are with the intent to get more than a year out of the player. Traded for Kelly and Peverley when they had an extra year on their deal. Traded for Seidenberg and extended him before July 1st and traded for Kaberle and fully intended to re-sign him before July 1st except for the fact that he completely bombed. I guess that's the risk the Flames would be taking, Iginla completely bombing, but considering he isn't a soft PMD in a city/system that hates them and his style fits the Bruins perfectly, they should be alright.

Feaster asked Chiarelli to pay the bill for his late-night pizza delivery order, and it's taking a while for an American credit card to clear in Canada.

Its funny how things work on HF. First, everyone thinks Iggy doesn't deserve much as he is 78 years old and declining. Then trade happens and the return is horrible.

1. Trade isn't official yet.
2. Iggy can easily resign in Calgary in the summer. Maybe they made an agreement on the side (gentleman's agreement) to commit to resigning.
3. If Iggy does resign with Boston, Calgary gets a first.

I don't think an NHL gm makes this trade if there isn't a mutual understanding. I'm sure Feaster and Iggy have had discussions where he either signs in Boston or back in Calgary. Just doesnt make sense otherwise.

Apparently there is an official announcement coming from the Saddledome.

@SUNGilbertson: A #Flames spokesman: "I think we have an announcement to make very shortly."

Everyone is taking for granted that Bob McKenzie has the right details. Who told him? Chiarelli or Feaster? Not likely. Wait until it's official.
