Jarome is the perfect model for how an NHL player should be
Works hard, progresses with the game, true leader, does everything on the ice that is asked of him, stays classy and is humble
Best Flame ever by far
We have all been lucky to have him as our Captain for so long and are so grateful
First Ballot HOF and his number best be retired to by the Flames as soon as possible
Now go win a Stanley Cup with the Pens!
So happy he likely gets to play beside Sid instead of in Boston - it just seems more fitting for some reason.
It seems fitting because the only time Iginla ever got to play with a true #1 centre was when it was with Team Canada. Now he has two #1 centres.
He single handedly killed the Battle of Alberta.
In part because we (the Oilers) had no players in Jerome's tenure that could match up with him, but mostly because he was so darn likeable. It was imposible to 'hate him' as per the rules of the BoA set forth by our forefathers.
He is what it means to be a Canadian and a Hockey player!
I have the upmost respect for Iggy, and hope in wins his cup and signs with the Oilers in the off season!
To my ugly stepsisters to the south. My condolences. We know what it feels like to lose a legend. First ballot HoFers do not come along everyday. I would gladly give up any two current Oilers for 16 years of your Captain in his prime! I'm envious of what you had!
One of my favorite playoff runs to this day was Iggy and the Flames. Toronto fan all the way, but I'll be cheering for Calgary to get through these rough years as quick as possible. Somebody will emerge and don't forget you will have a lot Iginla ceremonies to look forward to.
Another Oiler fan here paying respects to one of the good guys.
Strangely Iginla in Calgary actually meant a lot to a LOT of Oiler fans. Particularly during our small-market/might move to texas days. Despite the rivalry, most Oiler fans really love and respect Iginla.
I really want him to win his cup, and finish his career back in Calgary.
