Sounds like it.

Eric Duhatschek ‏@eduhatschek 41s
Actually, Feaster just confirmed that; he needed input from "the player" and "the player" picked Pittsburgh. Wow.

Kunitz - Crosby - Iginla
Neal - Malkin - Morrow

That's alright, I guess.

The Pens deal might actually be worse lol.
The prospects in the Bruins deal were a good deal better i believe although the conditional 1st rounder was brutal.

So maybe this opens up a Hemsky deal to Boston?

Jay Feaster owns Aaron Ward and TSN. I bet he's gonna go have a huge laugh after this.

No team gives up a surefire prospect for a rental though.

If the key piece coming back was the piece in the Iggy/Boston deal I want no part of it.

LOL

Ends in Pittsburg after all the "traded to Boston, done deal" stuff. Guess Gregor can sleep easier tonight knowing he isn't the only one to make such a public mistake

Man, Pittsburg is nuts though, they are really going for it this year.

Terrible deal for the flames too, liked the Boston deal better... well, cept for that conditional 1st

Crazy turn of events. Boston deal was better. At least the Flames get a pick, although it's likely the 30th.

Gotta think the Bruins will be making some calls in the AM.

I was thinking the same thing, they may feel more pressure now to get something done.

Really sounds like Iginla nixed Boston and pushed for a trade to Pittsburg.

Would explain the poor return.

I tend to agree but we aren't getting a kings ransom for Hemsky.
Might as well cut our losses before he gets injured again and loses all value plus that extra $5 mil in cap space gives the Oilers more flexibility to fill a need.

The value is about the same. The prospects in this deal aren't super different. Koko is a superior prospect to either of these two, but the guaranteed 1st is there.

The important thing is that it's still bad value for Calgary.

Also Boston, Tambo says what's up.

You have to think there it loads of pressure on Chia and the Bruins to match what Pittsburgh is done. Great news for us.

This isn't why I came to Calgary, to trade Jarome Iginla. I came here to win the cup - Jay Feaster.
Really Jay? lol
