Who will Iginla play with?

With the lineups in Pittsburgh already doing "pretty" well, who gets broken up and put where?

There was a thread like that on the rangers in the off season.

There's no such thing as an unbeatable team in hockey.

Off season thread like this is always a fail. Penguins have already proven they are unbeatable and now add more pieces. I'd be shocked if the team doesn't win the east.

I'd imagine Iginla-Malkin-Neal once Malkin is healthy. Iginla-Crosby-Kunitz until then.

I'm pretty sure they will, but I don't think it will be an easy task against Boston in conference final

Bylsma will try to make Shero looks good by playing Iggy next to Crosby, so the fans can try to forget the painful lost of Anowski and Agostino

Probably everyone at some point. Pens are going to have a relapse for a bit while they work out their new lineup. That is a lot of roster turnover to have happen in a few weeks (including Eaton in there)

Gaborik deal incoming

no seriously , what are you up to? It's not like you are revealing something new to me. Thats what GM Sather does for almost two decades now. Btw thats how we got McD.

Richards is immovable yeah, but Gabo can bring us some nice pieces in return ... its just like Gomez and Drury all over again ^^

They are the modern version of the 95 Red Wings.

I don't understand all the hate and ******** that's going on all around HFBoards, at least the Penguins and their players have provided some stories to talk about in these last couple of days and weeks¹: Winning streak, runaway scoring lead, Ottawa CSI², trade for Morrow, trade for Murray, trade for Iginla after the media had already set up the fake trade to Boston.

You'll have to give credit to Boston for Julien's hilarious diving rant but look at the other teams' pathetic attempts to provide some excitement like D'Agostini and a conditional 7th for a conditional 4th or 5th.

¹ Although the media talks unjustifiably much about them, of course.
² Credit for this piece of entertainment mostly goes to Melnyk, though.

If you mean the 95-96 Wings, that team lost to Colorado in the West final. They won the cup the next year after a less impressive regular season.

I wish I had that Mr Burns clip when he assembles an All Star baseball team and talks about misfortunes "One misfortune? That's possible....Seven misfortunes, there's an outside chance....But nine misfortunes? Now I'd like to see that"

The only area of concern really is Fleury. 3 years running with a play-off save % of under .900. You don't go far in the play-offs with a starting goaltender like that. Although the defense infront of him has been much better this year.

Dude, that lineup is scary!! Morrow and Iginla are character guys with leadership skills, Captains, guys who hit and can score, playoff performers. Yes they are aging but they are hungry for a cup.

The Penguins are like the Miami Heat. They got the (two) best players in the world and everybody wants to sign with them.

5 years ago, I would have been very impressed with adding Morrow, Murray, and Iginla. Now, I'm not sure how dominant these guys will be in their roles. If they're going to win, it's going to be the way they've been doing it the past dozen plus games.

I can guarantee that everyone, especially Boston, will be gunning hard for the Penguins.

Whatever, remember Chris Osgood was in net for two cups. A slightly better than average goalie is good enough when you've assembled a team that could outgun the Death Star.

Offense will be very hard to slow down. But the playoffs is littered with teams that can ride a hot goaltender and a solid team system to keep games close.

Like, are the Penguins even a shoe-in to beat the Rangers if their whole team takes on the challenge and shows up in the playoffs?

D still sucks.

Douglas Murray is not an improvement.

He's been playing really well this year, as has the defence.

Here's (sort of) what Shero has to say about the unbeatable thing.

The team on paper doesn’t mean too much. We have to do it on the ice. Chemistry for a hockey team is very important.

Rangers? Pens absolutely own the rangers and lundqvist...the teams that give pittsburgh trouble are philly and nj.

Pens might be favorites, but they're not unbeatable. No one is. Even the 95-96 wings lost in dramatic fashion.
