Just because you don't know them doesn't mean they are nobodys.

They are college prospects so most people have never heard of them, but both are developing nicely.

For a declining rental player in shortened season, considering Calgary also upgraded from a conditional to guaranteed 1st, Feaster got a good deal.
I wouldn't call them top prospects. They're mid-level NCAA prospects - not as good as Khok, but better than Bart.

The guaranteed 1st is quite a bit better than the conditional though - even though both would have been very low 1st round picks.

Good for Iginla, gets to play with Crosby and a good chance at the cup also.

Feel bad for Calgary fans, that return is not acceptable.

He's not going to though. He's Jarome F-ing Iginla, why would he?

When he realizes how fun it is to win a cup, he may.

Was Hanowski added in the deal because his name rhymes with Jankowski?

It's Feaster...and it's near Easter.

The funny part about this trade is that if an HF poster posted this trade as a trade proposal he would be bashed so bad. This trade is that bad

Eh, relatively top. Admittedly some exaggeration for the point of standing out and getting across to people
but in HockeyFuture's own prospect report on Pittsburgh recently had Agostino as their #10 and Hankowski at 12.

Its not a flawless system, and Pittsburgh certainly had more valuable prospects, but just because people don't know who they are does not negate the fact Pittsburgh traded two Top15 prospects

I doubt he gets offered much over 5m anyway. With him being over 35 now, I don't think team are going to be offering 6m+ a season at this point. But who knows, I guess. But I think he'll end up signing with someone at around a 5m cap hit.

No-one knows what he'd do. If he believes that he has a chance at winning it next year (after winning it this year aswell) then why not?

If he doesn't then he's free to go and we'll have cap space to sign others.

Love when a guy's trade isn't close to what fans demand it is. Luongo anyone?

The conditional 1st rounder might not have made a difference but at that point why get greedy/hold up anything and give either the Flames or Iginla an opportunity to choose a different path. Still a mistake IMO.

In the end he is a rental player. What the Flames fans where asking in the trade rumors thread where unrealistic for a 35 year old rental (even if it is for Iggy who is no doubt a great player). To get a first rounder with no conditions and 2 players that could contribute in the NHL isn't terrible (although I agree, not great either).

Between this and the ROR offer sheet, Feaster has to go after this season right? People kept saying he should be fired after the ROR thing and some people said to let him keep his job until the end of the season saying "How much worse can he do than this?". Well, here is your reason why he should have been fired a few weeks ago.

I agree for the most part. That said, I would have demanded something like an extra second as condition if he resigns. I feel like it's missing that aspect.
All said though, Igy forced feaster's hand and he had to make the trade to PIT.

It is. Everyone here overvalues their teams players / prospects.

Rick Nash trade anyone?

It's odd how this all works. Murray is basically worthless, then gets 2 2nds. Even San Jose fans were basically saying give us a 3rd you can have him.

Then you get big ticket players like this and they come at such a low price.

Honestly, the NTC/NMC have so much to do with it.

The 10th best and 12th on HF.

Hanowski was a guy who might have been available at year's end as well.

I know nothing of them, but it's a pretty good assumption to say Pittsburgh got pretty good value getting Iginla.

It's pretty apparent it was Iggy's call.
