Hell yes.

In the Boston deal the 1st was conditional.

Quoted from another poster on the NHL website:

Quote:
Feaster got more for Iggy than Dallas got for Richards, NJ got for Parise and Nashville got for Suter...and not to knock Iggy, but he's not at the level of those players due to his age. So even if the prospects don't develop, a late 1st rounder in a deep draft is still a good return for a rental player that you coudln't resign and had given you on 3 teams to deal with.
It's a pretty good outlook on how things went down.

I just want to know what went down. If Iggy picked Pitt straight up, so be it.

Why mess around?

Im waiting on Chias presser. He's the last to speak of all involved.

I really don't know if this trade puts the Pens on the level of the Hawks or Ducks.

Three head scratchers by Shero says he didn't have the confidence in the team he had and put on some desperation blinders and locked himself in a dark room with his cell phone.

The Pens just got a lot older and slower. Hardly something teams in the East should worry about. PP gets an awful lot better, what else?

What a ****ing clown. So much respect lost."

"Way to skip out on the question their you ****ing fraud...."

"**** you, Iggy"

"no because Iginla had the trump card and used- screw Iginla, I dont want him anymore"

"If Iginla's only choice was the Pens, why did he gave a list with 4 teams he would accept a trade in the 1st place? Is there any honesty left in pro sports these days?

**** that bald mother****er and his stupid Pens. May they all burn in hell!"

-----------------------------------------------------
And an example of a fantastic post:
"This is very true but I think it's still up in the air whether Iginla blew this up 100% on his own or Feaster knew that Iginla wouldn't approve the Boston deal and led them on to create more of a market. I think we are going to find out at 2 o'clock. If it was all Iginla, expect Chiarelli to take the high road and not say much. If Feaster was in on this, I expect a blow up...at least of Chiarelli's mild mannered proportions.

My hunch right now is that it was all Iginla. I have a hard time seeing Feaster being dumb enough to alienate another GM like that, because with how this business works, you also alienate his friends. It's bad business, and he got a horrific return in the end anyways so the ends don't justify the means. But like I said, we'll find out soon. Good chance at 2 o'clock and at worst, the next time Cam talks to the media. You know he won't be afraid to speak up if he thinks Feaster was in the wrong."

And from a flames fan:
"Really?

I'm a Flames fan living in Boston, and I was ecstatic to have Jarome in Boston to chase the Cup. That said he has the NMC in his contract and went where he felt the most comfortable, as shocking as it may be to all of you. So good for him.

Honestly both returns were meh, that's not the point. Iginla has transcended the Flames franchise the last couple years for me. Nothing on the table is going to replace him, simple as that, and frankly the franchise is ****ed either way. Some of us less spoiled fans understand we have no control over hockey ops and I am glad he is going to play where he wants to play. He has earned the right not to be treated like a faceless commodity sold to the highest bidder. But I would have loved to him have in Boston."

I fully expecting you to apologize, say you get it, and move on. Except this is the Internetzz- especially HFB.
Yes, angry posts. People are angry. They should be angry.

Iginla did "take a dump" on the Flames organization. He could have given them a better return. Had he abided by the list Feaster has spoken about, his team would have had a great prospect, and a 6/7 D man on their way to Calgary, with a possible 1st if he were to sign with the Bruins for next season.

For what should I apologize? You haven't listed any "illogical drivel", other than people saying that they are angry.

Also just to be clear. The list of teams Iggy submit was: "A list of teams he would consider being traded to."

Different than teams he "Would" automatically accept trades too.

Overall it's pretty terrible value for Calgary, but at least they got something.

Well said and I said as much in the chaos that was these forums last night; if Iggy just walked, I wonder how much outrage there would be with Feaster?

IMO he did not only right by his team, in actually getting something, but right by their long-serving captain and traded him where he wanted (although obviously he had a say in it with his NMC). It was a classy move and that does go a long way in the business, people remember that.

If leading us to a Cup final, leading us in points consecutively for a decade, and being an excellent role model is "taking a dump" on the Flames, I can't wait for the next player to "take a dump" all over our franchise!!!! Perspective people.

It's not like any package on the table is going to save the Flames.

Really? Pretty sure every playoff contender would have liked to get their hand on the old and slow Iginla, Morrow and Murray.

The thing that disgusts me the most about this trade is if the Pens make the Finals...

a very, VERY, small part of me hopes they win it for Jerome.

The homerism is strong in this one. Very strong. He will not be broke on this day.

How many times do you need to here that a conditional pick is worse than an actual pick. Get over it. Your just making Bruins fans look bad.

You're still the only one in this thread who has an issue with how this went down, and the unfortunate correlation with you being a Bruins fan ends any amount of objectivity playing a role here.

Your team lost and you're not getting Iggy. Get over it.

Iggy has earned the right to go where he wants and no sane Flames fan is going to be ripping him for choosing PIT over BOS on account of the return. You say BOS offer was better, when I can turn around and say Koko's a flight risk, Bart's a nobody and the first is still an unknown.

You're sour grapes, and while I would encourage you to stop before you just make yourself look like a sore loser, I think you're past that point already. By all means, continue to fuss and cry.

since when is KoKo a flight risk? i've seen it mentioned a few times in this thread. he started the season playing in the KHL but why would he return to NA to play on a bad junior team then play in the AHL if he wasnt committed to making it in the NHL?

I could be wrong, but perhaps Iginla would have had no intention of resigning with Boston, at which point the trade doesn't look all that great. As for Iginla "taking a dump", yeah no....

When you get a real prospect and an NHL defenseman?

Yeah, I'm the only person to have any issue about the way this trade was handled. The sole person on these forums.

Haha this must be a troll comment. Better than Anaheim? I don't think that was ever a problem. Slower? Because two fourth liner drop to the press box? and are replace by Iggy and Morrow who are by no means slow. I could go on but I really think this is a troll comment so Ill come myself down and stop.
