I'm very disappointed today; but I like being the underdogs. Practically nobody gave us a snowball's chance in 2011; even all of us were ready to trade half the team and fire the coach until they won in the 1st round! and Rex is a God now; but I remember ALL the threads about how he had to benched and how slow he was!!

I think they find a few gamers to fill out the depth in the front and back, hope for some good health, and start playing physical Bruin hockey and let things play out.
Ain't that the truth. I'm sure I've contradicted myself in a couple of threads depending on my mood.

Woke up to a mixed-bag of emotion. Iginla, from one dusk to dawn, goes down in my history book as just another gold idol with feet of clay. Also relieved that it was not top prospects Spooner/Subban as part of this proposed deal and an uncomfortable attempt at PR kiss-and-makeup that would surely follow.

No way, now how on the first one. You essentially replace Boychuk with Whitney, which appears to be a downgrade to the overall defense to me.

Second one I would think long and hard about, but I really want no part of Hemsky. Has he had his annual injury yet this season?

how the **** is this possible? ELCs and AHL plugs for their bottom 6 and defense (outside of Letang)?

A team that has Malkin, Crosby, Neal, Morrow, Letang, Sutter and Iginla still has $17m in cap space?

**** me.

Don't tease me with St. Louis. (hey, that rhymes!)

It would be much harder to take than Iginla.

I have a feeling we're going to end up with Max Talbot for some reason. I base it on nothing concrete. Just a hunch.

They probably aren't done either, which could really end up sucking even more.

I`m hardly devastated, all pressure squarely in the Pens corner....as a fan of this team, they play better "under the radar" so to speak. Aquiring those guys is nice on paper, not always the easiest transitions to a lineup having a bunch of changes. We`ll see, have the Pens peaked too soon?

Can u imagine the Pens fan base if and when they win squat???
They gave up a late pick and 2 college kids who may never even make the NHL... I'm sure their fanbase will be just fine.

I'm with Blinkfan.. this sucks ass.

If the Bruins get MSL.. Chia is going to have to both over pay and try and build up Spooner.

It's probably going to take Spooner, Svedberg, Caron and a pick for Yzerman to even consider trading him within the division. And as much I love MSL... that is just too much.

I'll be accused of major overreaction again but it might be a good time to try & trade Boychuk & Peverley now. They might have to go in the off-season anyway, & it will only get harder to move them based on their limited ntc's & the Bruins getting more desperate to move out salary in the summer.

I don't base this on not getting Iginla. I base this on this Bruins team being the most unlikable team since Dave Lewis. No heart on this team whatsoever, and I'm not sold on the components even when they're playing well (which is on average less than a period/game). Seriously, start thinking about next season. Don't sell everyone, but think ahead farther than the less than 2 months they'll be playing hockey this season.

What does this mean? As in the two best teams in the East? I hate the Habs as much as anyone but they are rolling right now too.

Their cap space is $4M. But they can add $17 in salary for this year, it's the AAV crap. To be honest I only fully understood this today, after the Morrow trade I thought they couldn't make a play for Iginla without giving up something.

I actually thought Iginla would count $7M against the Pens cap, you know, like a normal cap

Pretty sure he's being sarcastic here.

I'll wait until we see how the playoffs go, just look at the cup finals last year. No one believed NJ would make it, their roster last year isn't as good as ours. If the Bruins can get their **** together than I still think we can win out in the East at the least.

That worked out that the Cup went West.

Will be the same this year. Only Boston and Pittsburgh have a real shot at the Cup.

However, don't tell your GM (and everybody else) that you will accept a trade to these 4 teams, have the GM go out and get offers, to the point where one of the teams scratches the prospects involved, and then veto the deal at the 11th hour.

That's bush.
This x1000.
