Has there ever been a case where two guys on the same team fought each other during an actual game (not camp)?

H.

I know Dan Cloutier and Mike Brown got into a fight in a Canucks practice, and then Mike Brown was put on waivers and claimed by Anaheim the next day

Well I dont know about actual game as in NHL Game but in practice there have been lots of fights. For the habs just this past year Dagenais and Rivet fought and Koivu and Ribeiro had a fight too.

Well two Hamilton players went at it during a real game. Unfortunately it was a TV show.

Keith Primeau fought Probert in practice (a classic) while in Detroit.
Primeau's also fought McAllister in training camp.
But as for a game situation in the NHL, there's definately been some serious shouting matches between teammates, though I don't recall of a fight unless you would consider holding back an insensed teammate as a fight.
It may have happened at one point, I just don't go back far enough.

IHL story....

They never came to blows, but Frank Musil and Eric LeCompte had to be seperated from one another as they were engaged in a heated exchange on the bench. Musil was chewing LeCompte's ass after he completely blew coverage on a penalty kill.

In reality, Musil should have been chewing the coach's ass, cuz LeCompte had no business on the penalty kill!

Man, how I wanted to. One of my former beer league teammates is a jerk of incredible magnitude. Unfortunately, he's also a lawyer.

Closest thing I can think of is Draper and Zetterberg swiping at each other and being restrained (the gloves never came off) at the '03 World Championships. Not on the same team, but still on the same team. I'm sure such a scenario on the world scene has had to happen a couple times of NHL teammates scrapping on separate national teams.

Other than that heated words and practices is all I can recall... on the big scene anyway. Juniors or minor leagues could be a different story.

Didn't Guerin cheap shot a rookie at the Stars training camp?

And yeah, Guerin slashed some rookie in the shoulder/back of the neck, but I don't know who.

When Drury was on the Avs(wish he still were), him and Foote were swinging their sticks at each other. Foote had a grin on his face the whole time, then they just laughed it off.

It happened in the WHA. A couple of fighting Saints got into a fight on the bench. Th ref was dumbfounded on how to penalize them. I'll have to look it up for more details.

The rookie was Brett Draney and Guerin did apologize later. It sure looked bad on tape. I believe Guerin was in his first training camp with Dallas at the time and was making his presence felt...

There have been hundreds (probably thousands) of fights between teammates in practice or training camp over the years. The only instance I can recall of a player going after his own team during a game was clown who used to play for the Leafs that died a few years back. For the life of me, I can't recall his name, but he had a very checkered post hockey career that included a couple stints in prison for drug dealing and pimping, IIRC. Anyway, THAT GUY (damn, what WAS his name!) I believe went after a couple guys on his team while he was on the ice and I believe he also went after an official very aggresively. So much so that Larry Robinson stepped in and settled him down just to try and save the guys career. He was a pretty troubled guy. If anyone remembers his name, I'll edit.

I guess if you know that Ryan Smyth is "Smitty" and Jason Smith is actually "Gator", then it's not as confusing.

Wasnt there but I am pretty sure that Keith Tkachuk and Brent Johnson had a go in practice last year before Johnaon was traded.

Oh, if we're counting "international" competitions, than yeah, it happened. 1996 World Cup (think I have the year right). Guerin and Stevens, both with the Devils at the time, dropped the gloves in the first US-Canada game (may have been an exhibition game?)
