Would it be too crazy to suggest Streit be moved to RW? I think he would do great on that line and takes some of the puck play off of Tavares.

Boyes can fall to second and play with Nielsen and McDonald
I don't think it is crazy at all. I almost suggested the same thing a few weeks ago when Streit was playing terrible in his own end while getting paired with Finley and Tavares still needed a RW. We were also losing a lot of games and would be an interesting shake up.

He's got experience at forward and has chemistry with Tavares. But things have kind of stabilized. Steady as she goes. But I still think that could be an option. Streit could be just as effective as Boyes on the top line but still provide defense and transition out their own end. Boyes can't provide that for that line and it hurts them.

I know Moulson is Married to JT but we really gotta try somthing new...

Okposo has seemed to wake up and has been physical and playing well...

We need to put our 2 first round picks to the test and see what they can do....

Bailey-Tavares-Okposo....

I'm fine with that 1st line but the problem is you sattle Neilson with Moulson and Boyes unless you stick one of them in the bottom 6

Anyone else sensing a goon-fest?

Last meeting 7-0

Flyers coming off an embarassing loss to the Rangers

Carkner, Boulton, Martin all in the lineup for Isles...

We crush them. It won't be funny. We can start Poulin in net blindfolded and still win.

Islanders 9
Blazers 1

I understand the point that you're trying to make as that line has been playing better lately, but let's not carried away with the adverbs.

From your lips to gods ears. The Flyers have our number and I was in attendance at the 7-0 disaster with my Flyers friend. Tonight we are watching the game together again and so I'm praying for a better showing.

I expect it to be really physical. Boulton or Martin will probably try to start a fight right off the bat.

I want Grabner on the first line. He's our second best forward on our team in my opinion but he's rotting on the third line. His defense could also help sure up the first line.

Streit played some forward in Montreal, years ago (mainly because he was horrible defensively) - but that was a long time ago. I don't think it makes sense anymore.

Streit is a very good player and an important Islanders dman, despite his sub-par season.

I'm all in favour of splitting up MM/BB but I wouldn't think Streit would be an upgrade at all. Our problem at forward is that our scorers don't play defensively and our grinders don't score. If that 2nd line keeps playing the way they are, and Grabs finds ice-time with decent players, the scoring will be fine. It's the goals against, that's our killer.

2nd worst in the NHL.

The disparity in speed between Moulson and Grabner would be mind blowing, and would likely confuse the heck out of Frans.

I would like to see Boyes moved off the top line, but I doubt we will see it happen. Flyers always put up a good fight against us. This will not be an easy game.

Martin should be on top line. Moulsen can score and has the ability to get the puck to JT once in a while. The problem is with the first line is that JT is a set up and goal scorer he can go both. JT need someone that will go into the corners and get the puck to him. This will free up a lot of ice for JT and he doesnt have to burn as much energy every shift trying to do everything. He should not have to go into the corners to get the puck thats what wingers are for. Need a mix of everything on the top line. Grinder set up guy and goal scorer. Moulsen can score no doubt about that JT can do both. Love to see that line

As far as lines go I think its time we start rewarding players for how they are playing

Moulson - JT - Martin
Bailey - CC - KO
Grabner - Nielsen - Boyes
Boulton - Aucoin - McDonald

JT and Moulson are married. As should Bailey and KO and Nielsen and Grabs. I put Boyes with Nielsen and Grabs bc they're use to playing shorthanded together

Its never going to happen but I really think CC and Martin deserve more ice time.

These lines would be pretty interesting to see. I really want to keep the 2nd line together, the problem is Boyes and no 1st line RW. Boyes needs to go imo.

Moulson-Tavares-(Need)
Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo
Grabner-Cizikas-Ullstrom
Martin-Aucoin-McDonald

I think these lines are pretty solid, they really need a 1st line winger. If they trade Boyes, can Nino step in and be that guy? We'll have to wait and see.

Thanks.

Hopefully, the isles can take advantage of the Flyers injuries and walk away with the 2 pts tonight.

Would Tanguay be a decent stop gap?

Stop gap ? Tanguay is actually a legit 1st liner..maybe not an elite talent but certainly a top line guy.

For the 10th time, I'd like to see:

Moulson - Bailey - Okposo.

Flyers' D is kind of a mess right now. They'll have Gervais, Foster and Gustafsson as 1/2 their D, and Luke Schenn ain't great. No reason why the Isles can't go in there and pressure that D all night long, and work on tiring Timonen out (key). If they work hard right from the start and don't let the Flyers' get a jump, there's no reason not to win this game.

Of course, Cappy will probably be telling them to keep their heads up with Pronger out there.
