No, Detroit makes the most sense. If not them, Nashville. Hawks would be a surprise but you never know I guess.

No. He wants a spot in an NHL lineup right now, or next year. Chicago can't guarantee him that.

Has there ever been a weber32 thread that didn't end in a lock?

The Hawks offer DeKeyser Leddy's spot and sign him.

We know the Hawks don't want to deal with Leddy's agent this summer (whose name escapes me right now), so the Hawks trade Leddy to Buffalo for Steve Ott, then slot DeKeyser into the #5 spot.

Did the Hawks meet with him? I don't recall hearing about it. Who went?

Leddy is signifcantly better than DeKeyser, and Ott isn't significantly better than Shaw. So, they trade the best player, to guarantee a spot for a guy who's not as good, to acquire a guy that would only improve their FO percentage? Seems like a lateral move, if not a step back.

Ott is significantly better than Shaw. Ott's faceoff percentage is always in the 56% - 58% range. Plus he's at least equal to Shaw offensively, if not better. He's bigger and plays with as much snarl as Shaw does. And he's a hit machine. On top of all that, I'd play him at 2C even though he's really a 3C because last I checked we have a 3C playing there now. At least Ott would win a lot more faceoffs than Bolland does and give Kane the opportunity to start a few more shifts with the puck instead of having Kane spend too many of his shifts trying to get the puck back.

Toews and Ott as the 1-2 punch for d-zone faceoffs - it ain't gonna get better than that.

Guess we're stuck with Leddy. Too bad.
