Marcel Goc to Vancouver

What would it take to get him in blue and green?

EDIT: I don't suspect it will take much at this moment.

And why is that?

At least a second, prospect too perhaps. Hard to say, he'll be a great addition. Plus, hours of fun with "we Goc a goal!," or "we Goc a win!"

3rd and a prospect - same basic value as we paid for Higgins and Lapierre

Goc IMO has slightly more value than either did at the time. 2 nd and I do it without thinking twice.

Someone offered that same package with Weaver added, and I thought it was good value. You can have him too if you want.

At the rate trades are starting to pile up (well atleast Pitt) FLA may ask for Bieksa's unborn illegitimate love child.

Frankly, looking at Bieksa, you can have em.

Goc fits in very well with the mentality of the Canucks and I agree with others I'd be willing to drop a 2nd on him. Considering our situation up the middle, he makes a lot of sense as he can be demoted to lesser duties once Kesler returns.

2nd would be fair in my opinion. Hope this trade foes down, considering agreement from both sides here.

Done, we could use a depth RHD.

We don't have roster space though. We are carrying 8 dmen already withe Vandemeer in the minors.

That would be a good acquisition by the nucks. I think a 2nd would get it done.

Waive Barker or trade him as a throw in.

Canucks can throw Barker in the deal for all I care. He isn't going to see time over Campbell/Guds, Kuba/Kulikov and Brennan/Strachan/Robak/Jovo anyway.

Don't think Canucks want to lose Barker he has played pretty decent for us.

Weaver played well with Garrison, right? And he's a former canuck.

Yes and yes. He played solid with Garrison last year, Brian Campbell was also Garrison's partner for a bit last year.

Weaver is also out for about 4-5 weeks. Maybe make that Goc for a 2nd deal first, and then look a bit later if there's interest in a Weaver for a 3rd +throw-in deal.

Yes, before Campbell arrived.

He was a bit rusty when the season started along with Kuba (most of the board was calling for them both to be traded), but shaked it off after some games.

For a bit? More like the other way around, Garrison played most of the year with Campbell. Weaver played with Kulikov for most of the season, and Jovo with Guds/Ellerby.

a 2nd and 3rd for Goc seems like fair value. From the Pitt trades if that's the Market he may get more though.

If Weaver is out 4-5 weeks then he could stay on IR without occupying roster spot, but his value would be more like a 5th round pick.

Bringing over these type of players at the deadline never works out well for the Canucks. I don't think we've ever had a GOOD deadline deal.
