Seriously, the only time DTV should go out is if there is massive rain, really wet heavy snow or insanely thick heavy cloud cover. Which is pretty damn rare. If you're getting crappy service (i.e; freeze frame, pixelization or searching for signal), your dish isn't peaked in correctly.

Pondering ordering a pizza. But thinking I might hold off on that until tomorrow. The Wild are like 3-0 when I order a pizza, right? Might as well save that good luck charm for the tail end of the back to back.

Well...didn't want to pile on the too much. Would sound like I was biased. Which, since DTV pays me I guess I am.

I'm thinkin Matt Hackett has a lot to prove and will be on top of his game. Standing on his head and making unconscious saves. I'm also thinkin that even though it was a victory against Phoenix the team was sloppy, the team will focus on being sharper tonight.

I'm feelin a 4-2 win tonight.

I'm not a fan of DTV myself... but I know they're better than Cable. Been down the road for both and am more than happy with Dish Network over either.

What would you guys do if DirecTV didn't carry FSNorth? That's the case for me in the Philly area. They don't have CSN Philly. Sucks I can't go with DirecTV cause they can't buy the rights from Comcast for the channel.

Even if you had Fox Sports North, the game would be blacked out for you there since you are out of the region. You need NHL Center Ice.

BTW - not sure why you can't get Fox Sports North there anyway... I have all the regional sports networks on Dish.

Edit: NM, I miss read what you said... contract dispute for the regional network... that happens to every carrier at some point. All you can do is go to a bar that uses a different service etc.

Wild win 3-1. Goals from Koivu, Spurgeon, and Cullen.

I love watching these Viasat broadcasts. You see bunch of "behind-the-scenes stuff" and most of the time people don't even realize that the cameras/mics are live.

Very likely can. It's probably an add on package and would cost more though. [EDIT]: Nvm, apparently my ability to pay attention is nonexistant as well.

As for DISH, I don't have much bad to say about them. Their techs have been decent to me in the field if I've spoken to them. But they're so far behind the times in technology and to be honest, haven't really been relevant for what's going on as a service a few years now. While that might sound like I'm bagging on them I'd prefer to see them do better. I think the competition between the companies is good for consumers. The companies have to work harder for their customers on both the service level and it pushes development. That and DISH has on a few occasions now lost channels by not paying their bills. Happened with Disney a few years back and most recently with AMC. They had to pay $700 million just to square up their bill and get it back because everyone freaked when they missed the first episode of The Walking Dead this season. By the next Saturday night they had a deal in place. Sad thing is, it wasn't negotiations for a contract (that happens to all carriers. Us, DISH, Comcast, etc.). It was in their words 'a clerical error' that they hadn't paid the bill. They almost lost most of the 4 big networks by not paying the bills they agreed to with that Hopper thing last summer as well. Something regarding paying the networks the difference in losing the ad revenue from being able to skip commercials I gather. I don't know the full details.

If you're happy with them though, that's really all that matters.

I was trying to put you guys in my shoes. I would get FSNorth HD if I went with DTV with Wild pre an post game shows.

I had to watch the every Gophers game this year in SD on some college sports package cable carries. Every commercial break were the same commercials. One where some punk kids runs with some old lady's purse cause she forgot it at the bus stop.

Dallas announcers referring to Dallas Stars as Zach Parise's "old man's team".

Tonight I'm stuck with the Dallas feed. At least my center ice added 6 more HD channels a couple weeks back. Not sure what's going to happening next week because MLB extra innings and NHL center ice share the same channels on my cable network. With NHL season going 3 more weeks than normal I might get no more HD hockey games they might put all MLB games on the HD channels.
