there was a tsn article yesterday or the day before that named vancouver as one of three teams, but it seems to be gone. but most of what i've read is a four team list that only includes pittsburgh, LA, chicago, and boston.

but here's elliotte friedman:

Here's the kicker, though. There are some excellent sources who say Iginla would go to the Vancouver Canucks.

but yeah, i don't see this happening either.

Top 6 forward is our biggest need AINEC! Whether that forward is a center or not, I personally don't think it's that big of a deal. But anyone who's watched this team this season, and through the past two playoffs has to know that we need help on offense.

It would be pretty balling if we could just bring in Jagr and Goc. Not going to happen though.

yeah it's crazy, but how are you going to get the puck from that PP to exploit them having four men deep?

Centres are more important than anything else. Whether it's a top 6 or bottom 6 centre, we need one this deadline otherwise kiss our playoff hopes goodnight.

I agree.
Getting a top 6 forward is more of a "want" than a "need".

With Kesler out of the lineup, our lack of center depth was exposed hard.

i think just having 4 men deep would do that. they just need to throw 3 guys down low and all of a sudden we run out of space because our own players are in each other's way let alone the other team. I'd put Daniel up top with Garrison, he has experience there and wasn't terrible.

You say that like it's over now... still needed

Goc is actually not bad. One of the better 3rd line centers in the league. Like I said before, centres are the most important position in hockey.

I can't see how we get one either. Take Jagr, for example. If Dallas shopped him how many teams would be interested and what would the price be? Probably out of our price range.

The Morrow and Murray deals may change that, at least for the East. Big warning shots fired from Pittsburgh.

Derek Roy tops my list for top six targets; David Legwand for a third line C; Mark Streit if we are looking for a PP QB defender.

A bottom 6 center isn't going to help us do much of anything in the playoffs. If all we do is get a typical 3rd line center I guarantee you we are out in the first round. This team needs a legitimate top 6 forward who can provide offense.

My only qualms are that Legwand is a $4.5M hit and Streit (I believe) is yet another left-side defenseman.
