Boston-Edmonton-Calgary

This seems like a good fit for all three teams, but maybe I'm crazy. Crazy?

To Boston: Ales Hemsky and Ryan Whitney
To Edmonton: Jay Bouwmeester
To Calgary: Boston's 1st rounder + good prospect

Boston gets the RW they need after Iginla fell through and powerplay help.
Oilers get the No.2 defensmen they need.
Calgary gets more assets.

Oilers would rather not take on the Jay Bouwmeester curse mid-rebuild.

Are you sure?
Man would he help solidify defensive positions for us. He would be our only top pairing defenseman.

Could you explain? The Oilers' biggest weakness right now is in their top two. Schultz will be their number one, obviously. Whitney has been better as of late, and so have the Oilers. I'm all for using Hemsky's last year to get an upgrade on Whitney.

Right, because Lucic will go for a soft 2nd liner who makes 5.5 and a #4 defenseman in a UFA year. Boston hates big guys who can take over a playoff series... I don't think people should count out the Bruins. Their key players all play 2 ways and they have the best defenseman in the game. If Horton and Lucic start putting it together they could make a run.

You're mad if you think you'd get Lucic for Hemsky+Whitney. I think you need to take your own advice and go.

id take J-Bo over the oilers players. hed be great on our first pair with Chara or it would allow the Bs to put their playoff pair of Chara/Seids together and play J-Bo with dougie on the second pair and drop boychuk to the third where he would help out struggling ference more than mcquaid or johnson.

I'd love the Oilers to get JayBo, but I'm certain Boston would have a difficult time adding $9m in salary even after that gift from NYI.

People shouldn't even bother having Calgary's name within two proposals of a Bruins proposal on these boards. They are not going to do business for a bit methinks

I thought the cap was gone. Is it just gone in Pittsburgh?
