I don't buy that. I'm not 100% on him being a true Targaryen, but I'd put my confidence at about 80-20. The arguments are better in his favor (in my opinion) and the idea that he can't be true because he was introduced in the 5th book doesn't hold water to me

edit: Does Victarion have any Targ blood in him?

Read theories recently pointing to him being a Blackfyre pretender, mostly through his connection to Illyrio.

Yeah i'm on board with the Aegon is a Blackfyre theory

http://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comme...pton_meribald/

Either way I think he will die shortly after winning the Iron Throne. Him and Dany will come into conflict.

There was a post on the ASOIAF boards that encapsulated well what I think about those theories (they're wrong). I just think there's more evidence he's for reals and the Blackfyre crew is reading into stuff that's not there.

Not that it is impossible, knowing GRRM

That's the first time I've heard that and it's not as much of a stretch as the other 3 mentioned in that post (they tend to remind me of the Ancient Aliens guy's explanations )

Some good stuff (especially the idea of Jayne Westerling being a plant-her family were conspirators anyway). Not sure if Aegon is legit or not, although a union between he and Dany would seem to consolidate power in te most sensible fashion.

Its definitely up in the air but I think the sheer amount of times the Blackfyre's have been mentioned points that they will have some part in ASOIAF

The give away is in Tyrions Povs in Adwd. When Tyrion arrives, he gets child clothes. When he's about to leave to meet Jon con / yg, illyrio gave him sweets to give to yg and he said something about how he always loved them as a kid. It's stated house blackfyre is extinct in the MALE line. Why not just say its totally extinguished? Illyrios wife Was a Blackfyre. The whole mummers dragon prophecy (Varys controlling a blackfyre) and then the story about the black dragon sign cast out to the sea and when it came back it was red with rust. It means a blackfyre is coming back as a Targ pretender.

I don't like it because it completely destroys all the emotion and history between Tyrion and Tywin. Tywin not liking Tyrion because he is someone else's son by way of his wife being ****** makes it completely reasonable for Tywin to act like that towards him. Tyrion's tragic flaw is that he just wants to be loved because he has never received any from his father and that is why he tries to delude himself with ****** like Shae.

Who believes here believes the perfumed senescal is the ship Tyrion and Jorah arrived on? I remember the name of the ship roughly translated to fragrant steward. If so, then why should Daenerys beware of them?

Perfumed seneschal is Illyrio. He always wears the nicest perfumes yet is still smelly. He also sold Dany to Drogo, assuming she would just die in the dothraki sea. His and Varys plan all along was to crown fAegon, the whole thing with Viserys and Drogo was a ruse so Drogo would invade and then have fAegon destroy the dothraki , save the realm and become king. The real Aegon showing up more then 2/3rds into the series is stupid. There is no way he can honestly do a dance of dragons between Dany and Aegon, and then also resolve Stannis ' quest for the throne along with Eurons campaign and then of course Dorne which has done practically nothing for 5 books and now are "ready" to step into action... 2 books isn't enough. If Stannis loses to Ramsay and Roose and dies I will literally throw out all the books and refuse to finish TWOW.

I felt the exact same way when Robb died. is it confirmed that he's even stopping at seven? I'd heard somewhere that maybe he was going to do more...especially since Feast and Dance were essentially one book.

GOAT scene... "Our knees do not bend easily" -- Ser Arthur Dayne

I was thinking, since they didn't show this scene in the tv show but Howland Reed mentioned, couldn't they do it through Bran? Once Bran arrives in the caves, he could look back and see this whole scene. It is extremely important to the theory of R+L = J.

We also need to see Nymeria and her massive army of wolves. You have to think that at some point in the books Arya is going to reclaim her.

I disagree, don't think GRRM would all of sudden favourite Jon Snow and Daenerys in terms of their impact in the series and in Westeros just because of the R + L theory that everyone has accepted now

There are a lot of players, and they're all equally capable if not more so

It is, and maybe that theory is incorrect and that's why it's omitted...

In the book, the Tower of Joy scene does not explicitely show whether Lyanna was pregnant or not. A scene in the TV series would have to show it one way or another, or hide it clumsily.

They should do a Robert's Rebellion movie, from the Tourney at Harrenhall to the ending scene at the Tower of Joy. They could slide it before the last or next to last season of the series, with the big reveal at the end of the movie, or not.
