US PLAYERS SIGN IN QCITY

A handful of USA born players have signed in Quebec, with the Remparts. 20 year olds Charles Baldwin, and Matt Robinson, and 19 year olds Matt Grzelcyk, and Michael Paliotta, and 18 year old Frank Vatrano have all signed with the team. "This is clearly a huge day for the team." said head coach Claude Lemieux. "These guys are all leaders, and will be key to our success here in Quebec."

Van Riemsdyk scores 26g 76a for 102 points, yet Crosby wins the Hart with 91 points.. huh? It's almost always the leading scorer who wins it in this game if a goalie doesn't.. weird.

Van Riemsdyk had more assists then everyone else in the league except for Crosby and Malkin, with Malkin only putting up 77 points.

What are the criteria for the Selke in this game? This is the third time in four years that Mackinnon has had the Selke snagged away from him...

All 3 of those years he ended up with atleast +25, atleast 70 points, 50-60 giveaways and 150+ takeaways and around 50% on the draw.. The last 2 years straight Toews has won it while having under 60 points, -10 and -12, 70 giveaways and 70 takeaways, with around 63% on the draw.. The only thing he was better at was on the faceoff circle..

Some house rules for myself:

* Cannot sign anyone in FA 83OVR or above. I am looking to draft smart.
* I can only trade for players that the CPU is willing to trade (on trade block).
* I can only trade players that the CPU wants.
* Waivers and injuries will be turned off. Injuries will be turned on for the playoffs.
Tempted to do something like this with a team who are potentially a bubble team like Dallas or Phoenix.

Have you watched any of 2BC's GM videos?

He sets a similar set of rules for his GM mode commentaries, and they are great to watch.

Sounds good though - very interested to see how it turns out

good rules

one of my standard rules is that I only play the home games. really amps up the difficulty level for me.

No, I have actually never seen his GM video's. I have seen other video's, but I don't feel like watching a 20 minute video.

Yeah, I think it'll be more fun as I can try to win the cup and if it doesn't work, I will go into the rebuilding mode.

First writeup either later today or tomorrow!

I believe we were in both years, I know for a fact we were the second time, but I'm not sure about the first year. I'll check and get back to you when I'm on later.

In year 22-23 of my Caps beagm and these two from Carolina have been crazy the last 2-3 years. In the last three years James Van Riemsdyk has had:

82gp - 26g 76a 102pts
82gp - 22g 75a 97pts
82gp - 29g 76a 105pts

The other guy on the team, Jerome Verrier, must have only played with JVR the last 2 years, because he doesn't have nearly as many points in that first season as JVR did. Last couple years for him though are:

82gp - 48g 56a 104pts
82gp - 45g 71a 116pts

That last season Verrier had is the most points I think I've seen anyone put up in beagm mode as well. Not bad for a 3rd rounder, lol.

Finally, the Devils have been stopped. Their streak of 6 consecutive Cup Final appearances and 5 straight Cup wins ended in 2020, after a 3-2 OT loss to the Hurricanes in Game 7 of the Conference semis.

This was the first series in 5 years I didn't have home ice for, and it cost me, as the Devils went 0-4 in Raleigh. I only play home games in regulation in the playoffs, but will occasionally jump into an OT (my playing style isn't always conducive to scoring the first goal, so I don't think it's a huge advantage), and after playing a pretty crappy OT period, Jordan Staal beat Steve Mason from outside the circle to send them into total confusion, as not losing for 6 calendar years will tend to do. Adam Larsson had his knee blown out in the first round, so that definitely didn't help, but it's hard to use injuries as an excuse in a game where virtually everyone gets injured.

Should be a pretty interesting turning point in the game, as the teardown had already started with Kovalchuk being traded in the offseason for picks. Unfortunately since Edmonton lost in the Conference Finals, neither of my 1st round picks are anything great.

Albany lost in the Calder Cup Finals to San Antonio, concluding a pretty good run for them this season. Of note, one of my old draft picks, Vaclav Korpan (who is getting the Wings treatment of being put in the minors forever), had the biggest season I've seen a legitimate AHL player (not counting players that shouldn't be in the minors) have, with a 35-65-90 season. Also a 3rd round draft pick from a few years ago who started as a 74, jumped into his rookie AHL season with 37 goals and more than a PPG clip.

Unfortunately, he's a red 3 1/2 so he only went from 74 to 75, which I don't think is going to be good enough to move to the NHL yet. His callup games were pretty "meh". Korpan went from a 75 to a 79, so he should be in next season as long as the lineup sets up right.

Forwards Rankyn Campbell, and Luke Warner, of the MHL, and Félix Jarry of Jr. AAA, have signed, as have defensemen Josh Desmond (MHL), Keith Lavoie (Jr. AAA), and Joey Dubé (Jr. AAA).

"This is a depth move, and it gives us some guys to battle it out in training camp." said GM Léo-Guy Morissette.

He just kinda does the same thing over and over. Not really exciting to watch when he gets all the 4 star prospects and just waits, a monkey could do that.

Yes, that's why i sometimes set the goal to always compete for the cup no matter what. Tanking is not an option because it always gives you an advantage later on in this game.

Tanking is fine granted yes it does give you an advantage later. Just how he does it annoys me, He trades in bulk to get these 4 star prospects then rinse and repeats. Also trading for the 1st overall pick every time just ruins it for me.

Was thinking of making this trade

Would this trade be worth it or not very good?

Jonathan Quick

for

Cody Franson

Want to trade Quick cause I want to roll with Reimer/Lehner as the goalie tandem for the Knights

Can't judge the trade if we don't know the players' ages and overalls.
