Roach sent to the Reign. I think it's a short-term move. As soon as a 'Narchs dman goes down, he gets the call.

Speaking of Monarchs dmen, do they have a #7 now that Roach is gone?

They lost tonight in the shootout 4-3.

Lastly, Forbort seems to be taking a lot of penalties. Can anyone who watches the Monarchs comment on this?

Hey folks, was wondering...where does Tyler Toffoli play? The wing or the center? As well how has he been so far this season?

He was drafted as a right wing, but there was talk about trying to get him to play left wing, as that's the Kings biggest hole. However, after the acquisition of Frattin and training camp, where Toffoli was pretty underwhelming by his standards, he was sent back down and moved, as far as I know, exclusively to right wing. The Monarchs' top line is Pearson - Vey Toffoli.

As far as how he's been so far... with what little I've seen, a bit underwhelming.

But he will almost exclusively be a winger.

He was asked by the Kings to play a more nasty/physical style.

Forbort is doing that, it's going to take him time to figure out what he can/cannot get away with.

Three goals, two assists, and two shootout goals in five games, I'm not sure how much more can be expected of him

Hence my caveat of saying "from what little I've seen." In the stretches of games I watched, he was a non factor and wasn't much of an offensive threat.

Good article, looking forward to reading more.

Looks like there is still hope for Jones as a future backup to Quick.

Nice to hear that Toffoli wants to be the best player in the AHL while he is there.

I think the patience that Kitsyn and the organization is exhibiting with his development will play dividends in the future.

He'll have to be even more patient - scratched tonight.

Jordan Weal steals the puck, dangles, dishes, Pearson easy taps. Wow.

Anyone looking like they should be in a Kings lineup? Of all the young prospects at camp, I thought Pearson looked to be the most NHL ready.

Pearson has looked quite good. But seriously if you don't follow me on Twitter, you don't know that by far the best player in the 1st was Weal. That kid is really wowing me. Don't sleep on him.

Man, some of these kids may need to adjust to playing wing. With Andreoff being looked at as a center and playing the position in Manchester, the Kings have four centers in Vey, Weal, Shore and Andreoff who could be prime candidates to turn pro in the future. Stoll and Fraser aren't going to be Kings for much longer (with Stoll having a year left on his deal after this season) so the Kings may be looking internally at filling the bottom two center spots.

No problem! Taking tomorrow off but I should be doing this all year.

Let me tell you something - Vincent LoVerde has had a solid game. He just throws it at the net, they get there, and good things happen.

I noticed Sabourin has only played 3 games and he's not in the lineup tonight. Hope he isn't injured.

Too many forwards and too many good ones honestly. Kitsyn has only played one game as well.

Thanks. As a Kings fan, it's disappointing to see them scratched in favor of players like Bishop and Backman, but I'm guessing they are contributing more to the team atm.

Maybe a couple of our Manchester guys should be sent our ECHL team? It seemed to work for Quick & King.....
