Hes a pretty sure bet to do well the NHL in my opinion, probably needs a year in the A, then i think he could work well as a 5-6 defenseman with the occasional PP time.

A piece I found about Nate Schmidt. Says alot about his dedication to improving which IMO bodes well for his future.

Heck, this team needs a back end. All we have now is a hole.

I'm putting Money on Buffalo. Pegula has them very aggressive in this market now.

Enough of this negotiating and offers. Snider should just send Rinaldo and Simmonds down to Schmidt's house with a burlap sack and 10 feet of rope.

How am I the first to say "Oilers"? I doubt it though. But there would definitley be playing time for him.

If he's looking for his best opportunity to crack an NHL line-up, Edmonton has to be on the radar for him. Edmonton will have 2-3 spots available going into next season.

Got to be the Flyers if he's looking to crack the lineup:
Schenn-Timonen
Foster-Gustafsson
Lauridsen-Gervais

Come on. I've never seen the guy play, but he'd probably be in the 2nd pairing if he signed tomorrow.

hahaha does make sense...dont forget about Rau as well... Tallon loves his American players, and why the heck wouldnt you want to live in Florida and likely play right away in the NHL for the Panthers???

would be a good fit for Nate imo..

I hope Colorado gives him a call as we really need a puck mover on the left side, but I fear he's bound to sign with the Wild.

If Justin Schultz could play defense, he'd be Nate Schmidt.

Unfortunately the Avs don't attract big name college UFAs at all. Maybe that will change but highly unlikely.

A year or 2 away from the NHL. Good shot, good hands and good skater. Probably a solid all around 3-4 defenseman eventually. I'd compare him to Wideman in Calgary.

I hope you are wrong ... watched the guy play alot this year and not impressed. Can't figure out why this guy gets the hype.. Always has seemed a "dime a dozen" player.

Per Russo: Nate Schmidt's entry-level deal with the Washington Capitals is signed, sealed and delivered.
