No kidding. He even assisted on the third goal while sitting on the bench.

The Phantoms certainly play D like their parent club. Bingo should have 10 goals in this game. Schneider could have had 4 or 5 at least. Mark Stone looks fantastic. Guy is a presence all over the ice. A cluster**** ha ensued everytime he's gone to the front of the net. Schneider is a pure finisher.

schneider, in my opinion is a lesser hoffman. he doesn't have the speed of hoffman, but he is bigger. his shooting isn't quite as good, but it's still solid. their passing is close, but it still goes to hoffman. hoffman is one year older than schneider. i do think they play a similar game.

Schneider doesn't play anything like Hoffman IMO. Hoffman is a guy who's best with puck on his stick and can creat off the rush or from the half wall or point. Schneider is your typical goal scorer who's great away from the puck and works best with playmakers. He goes to the front of the net and uses his size and gets himself in scoring opportunities. Hoff's got a great one timer but he doesn't have that Heatley sense so to speak. Schneider does. His game is similar to that of Matt Puempel or Heatley. I think he's turning himself into a legit prospect but his skating may be a concern like those other two I mentioned.

Slight addendum* A better comparison would be Latendresse. A guy who isn't overly physical but he uses his size to get to areas to score and has the hands to complement that style of play.

I agree to an extent on goalscoring prowess.

Schneider has made some phenomenal passes over the course of the year and his playmaking is very underrated yet also very raw. I think that is what intrigues me about him.

He can work both ways but I think will be known for his passing. His ability to finish is a consequence of his great hockey IQ and when to take advantage of his chances.

Based on the boxscore I assume Cole plays with Stone and Da Costa?

edit: nvm, watching the highlights confirmed it. That last bit at the end showed some nice moves by Da Costa.

DaCosta is still an unbelievable prospect.

We are just getting really, REALLY spoiled at the center position.

Turris
Zibanejad
Smith
O'Brien

Really no room for DaCosta on that top 6 and they sent him down to hone his skills. I wonder if he can play wing.

DaCosta-Spezza-Michalek or

DaCosta-Turris-Alfredsson

would be very intriguing but like Zibanejad, his great hockey sense and game-breaking ability is best used at center.

i don't think you're right. if you're watching the games on main's stream, you should sign into the chat and we can talk about it while watching the game live. i've seen schneider carry the puck a lot. he's good with and without it in the offensive zone. he like to skate into the offensive zone with the puck and shoot off the rush as well.

I have a feeling though that Dacosta is gonna get frustrated and either go back to Europe or not resign with us. There are so many young forwards ahead of him I'm sure he's able to see the writing on the wall.

I'd be surprised by that. The kid left France as a teenager to follow his dream of becoming an NHLer when he couldn't even speak English. If he does get buried in the farm and doesn't fit the Sens plans, I'm sure Murray will trade him so that we get an asset back and to give the kid an opportunity elsewhere. If he cannot trade him, he'd just not qualify him a la Cody Bass.

Da Costa = Trade Bait

I hope he keeps getting better in Bingo & increase his value, same for Pageau.
