Not saying Chris and Lappy carried the team but they certainly didn't hurt either. Think Chris had 3 or 4 GWG in the playoffs that year too.

K
we still have Chris and Lappy!!!

now go get some ****ing 2nd line scoring

It's not hard to find them, it's hard for a lot of GM's to muster up the courage to give up the assets to get them (including ours lately, clearly).

yes, finishing dead last in scoring and making the finals is lucky.

Dead last in scoring isn't overly important. We won 15 games, so we got enough scoring. Would have had to be the 92 penguins to score enough to win GM 6 or 7 of the scf.

Look at the teams we played ( first two rounds we faced probably the two best defensive pairings in the league, in the scf we were badly depleted and up against chara and a goalie hVing one of the best runs in the history of the league). The only team we faced that didn't have world class defensive talent we scored plenty on.

There's no bonus points for scoring lots, you just need to score 1 more time than your opponent four times each round.

It doesn't seem to stop good teams from having a redundancy at center though, even if they hardly ever seem to end up needing it on route to the Cup.

I still want Mike Ribeiro. He's having a career year, so the price should be fairly high, but he also carries a stigma with him, and McPhee is a terrible GM hahah, so maybe he'd come at a reasonable price.

I'd offer McNally/Price and a conditional (on him re-signing) first in 2014. Yeah, that's two thirds of a deal for Jarome Iginla (), but still.

Washington is only 4 points out of the playoffs. I imagine if the Canucks wanted Ribeiro and the Caps were moving him (they won't, I don't think), it would cost something like 1st + 2nd + at least one decent prospect, maybe two -- something like the Hossa deal when he went to Pittsburgh.

It's gonna cost an arm and a leg for gillis to aquire another top 6 scorer or center. It's looking like to be a bad trading deadline

I think the feud between the two is baseless speculation. But that's just my opinion.

No they didn't. They said "Raffi Torres in Phoenix is available. Vancouver might want to take him back".

Pure speculation, zero substance.

Torres will likely be back on deadline day.

Edit: not saying it's what cbc said. Just saying this as a point.

Sounds pretty different to me. Yours made me think we were actually trying to get him.
