Larry Murphy was already a HOFer when he came here, Leaf fans treated him like ****. I still remember being at a game in the middle of the "boo Murphy" thing and I cheered every time he touched the puck. I was young and nave lol.

Phaneuf would benefit with 3-4 minutes being shaved off his average TOI.

Even that out of work blowhard Bill Watters got in on the act,

"He fraudulently misrepresents himself as a tough guy on the ice. Nothing is more despicable in the game. He's earned 'most disrespected'"

This was a reply to Mirtle's tweet.

Interesting stat CBC showed comparing his games when he plays under 25 minutes vs over 25 minutes. Like night and day better when he plays under 25.

Lol Unbelievable. His camera presence definitely makes others think he's not a captain or something.

Not totally suprising, Holzer and Phaneuf were fine for the first handful of games.

I like Gunnar, but he's lost more than a step with this hip injury, he's about 3 or 4 steps behind these days.

He can't handle anyone coming in with speed, always seem to hurry the puck when a there is a hint of pressure, and doesn't angle guys off the puck anymore. Also been taking more stick infractions with his increase in ice-time.

Night and day compared to last year, where he played relatively safe mistake free hockey.

Yea for sure. You can see he makes the awkward turns here and there because of his nagging hip injury. He should be back next year but we need him healthy now for this final push.

Another Phaneuf stat: When paired with Holzer, Leafs were outscored 4.19 to 1.57 at ES. When not with him, they outscored teams 2.97 to 1.93
I think he meant the other way.

Yeap. Before i altered my posts

Great to see Phaneuf back to a stable partner. However it's not Holzer's fault really. Carlyle put him in the wrong spot, he's a bottom pairing shut down man not a top pairing man
