Next, do we get a Habs poster asking "Where do I sign?"?

I don`t think the Canucks would have any interest in Brisebois. Overypayed soft defenceman. Federov for Hossa might work...trade for that superstar last name. But no way does a bum like Breezy get you Sopel.

we'll do Fedorov for Hossa but this proposed deal is rather stupid.. Sopel is better and several million cheaper than Brisebois

if that cash is all of Brisebois' remaining salary and the pick is a 1st... then we might have a deal

That's not a very fair post to 'evaluate' Hossa. He's a prospect who's adjusting to the NHL. Name me a player that has Hossa's size (or is larger) that hasn't had problems with consistency.

Bad Prosposal for the Habs , if Hossa is constant this year and if he play all the games he will probably score around 20 goals

I don't think the deal is off value wise... Sopel is worth more than Brisebois... but Hossa is worth more than Fedorov... Fedorov's value is actually pretty low, probably around a 5th/6th rounder at this stage... that's why it's better just to keep him.

But I don't see the deal really working for either team... the Habs are young and have time for Hossa to develop, and have Hainsey and Komi developing on their blueline, and the Canucks need Sopel right now as they're trying to contend... changing him for Brisebois wouldn't really help us or our chemistry.

You're kidding.. it's not bad for the Habs? Give me one valid reason why the Habs should give up on Hossa and move him.

This deal is bad for both teams.

I think that any deal for the Habs that involves getting rid of Brisbesois and getting anything servicable in return is a good deal for the Habs.

Wrong. If the Habs were so desperate that they would move a good young prospect in order to deal Brisebois, they would simply buy out Brisebois' contract rather than lose the good young prospect.

No kidding dude, that's why he's still with the team. This is a trade *proposal* and if the Habs wanted to get anything worthwile for Brisbesois through a trade they would have to include something in it. This was brought up for discussion I don't think that there is any chance of it happening at all.
