3rd plus NCAA prospect

Don't get me wrong Stephane Robidas would be a definite upgrade over Kostka and Holzer, and his physicality would fit the Leafs like a glove. I would just prefer someone just a little more defensively able. Sometimes you don't get everything you want, and Robidas is slowly growing on me. I think that other options could be considered as well.

Phaneuf - Robidas would be a very good tandem.

That with Gardiner-Liles and Franson-Fraser, our D looks pretty good going into the playoffs

I would love Polak from the Blues. But with them in the hunt, that seems like a summer trade.

Chris Higgins re-signs, What about Macarthur ?

Just came down the pipe that Higgins has re-signed with Vancouver for $2.5m, do you guys believe that this is a good comparable for Clarke MacArthur ? Maybe for 3 years @ $2.75 - $3 (maximum).

I provided a detailed list of teams, others have not.

I've also presented this weeks ago when they first touched based, and it had yet to be reported by anyone else. Now its common knowledge and I haven't even pointed anyone at the fact that I brought this up prior to anyone else.

I like our wing depth without him to be honest. Would rather spend the money on C's and D's.

id resign mac for 3 years x $3 million. he is a good fit and good for third line or fill in on the 2nd.

i think/ hope nonis will deal with the big fish first and then assess things when he knows how much cap space is left for secondary/roll players like mac

I wouldn't mind C-Mac on a 2-3 year deal at 3 mil, he's very servicable on our 2nd or 3rd line. Worst case scenario we trade him for a pick if we get really tight on cap space.

I think a deal that would include that pick would be pending a Kipper decision.

Still a number of domino's to fall around the league even tho they arn't the most enticing.

Thanks C-Dub. Please tell me they aren't really going the Kipper route?

Dreger said the Leafs really want to get the deal done. He is usually accurate on Leafs stuff considering Nonis is his cousin

Its something being explored.

But at the same time, just because they are exploring the option doesn't mean its a done deal, which could be indicated by Kipper practicing today.

The discussions with Feaster leading to the Leafs camp talking with Kipper is something that cannot be done in just one day.

Now Nonis has a clear indication (which I dont know what it is), whether or not Kipper is willing to come to Toronto. Having that indication now gives him more time and creativity with what he can do over the next 24 hours.

Can we just have a must read thread that Chuck is legit stickied and required reading for Leaf posters? (Or just not allow any new Leafs posters)

The guy either has some connections and enjoys discussing some info he hears now and then, or he's pulling a very long, devoted, useless prank on Leafs posters.

Useless because i don't think he's getting paid, don't think he owns HF, don't think he's trying to get website hits by making up rumours.

Good stuff, thanks man.

Really hoping that we can snag a top 4, guys, that would really help. I really don't want to see Kostka with Phaneuf or on the PP.

This. That crap happens every damn deadline. I don't see the people questioning him put forth any info of their own with any validity.

People just need to have faith in Nonis.

If he doesn't make a move it isn't the end of the world since that would indicate the market was just a bit too pricey for his liking.

If he does make a move, it'll be for someone with term that can help this team today and maybe for another season or so, and it wont cost the Leafs the farm.

If he makes a move consisting of roster players, it will be a hockey trade that see's other capable players coming in that will fit this roster for the long haul.

I for one am absolutely not concerned if the Leafs do not make any moves since we do have quite a few prospects potentially being NHL ready over the next few seasons.

That revolving door of a deep prospects has started, and I cannot see Nonis disrupting such a luxury for a rental player for just a few more months.

If he does, I'll be floored.
