The Wings have shown interest in Calgary Flames defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, Phoenix Coyotes rearguard Keith Yandle and Toronto Maple Leafs blueliner John-Michael Liles.

The price tags on Bouwmeester and Yandle are extremely high, and would require a large package including top prospects and high draft picks...

maybe JOHN MICHAEL LILES is the best option for the wings he is probably not very expensive ....

Liles's offensive production has slowed down, and he is awful in the defensive zone. He has accordingly spent most of the season as a healthy scratch. I fail to see how he would improve our defense at all.

FYI: The Fourth Period is not a reliable source.

None of the above. With healthy defensemen, I don't see huge gaping holes. Might not be the most skilled, but it gets the job done. Our forwards have more holes and are in more od a disarray than the D. The constant focus on our D needs to calm down. Top 6 forward, hopefully sniper should be a bigger focus right now than whether we should trade for yet another offensive-minded defencemen.

I think the whole point is that we get a definitively first-line Dman who is worth that package of prospects/picks rather than just adding one more depth player to the heap.
