They don't have one, all conjecture. Knowing the way Sid is a warrior, look for him to wear a complete shield just to play on Tuesday against Buffalo.

The same one where the price for Brenden Morrow was arguably higher than the price for Jerome Iginla?

Forgot to give a minus to Matt Martin.

Last game he fights Adams, today he tries to go after Cooke and then gets clowned by Cooke and Adams almost immediately.

You're a tough guy, or so I'm told, maybe next time you can put on your big boy pants and take on someone who can actually go. Not that your fight card against the Pens that features Tyler Kennedy, Craig Adams (2x) and Tanner Glass isn't impressive.

Watch Shero bring Whitney back.

Sounds crazy, but one thing negative that really stood out this game is how having Orpik, Murray, AND Engo all in the starting lineup ****** up our transition game that relies on quick puck movement from the defense.

Martin likely misses the opening round of the playoffs. You are an injury to Tanger, Nisky, or Despres or even just Despres struggling from having Orpik, Murray, and Engo all dress in a playoff game.

If it doesn't involve a significant asset, does anyone else here think Shero will look to add a Jordan Leopold type as an extra safety net, because he's got the cap space and absence of roster limits to do it?
We can always bring up that morrow kid... Oh wait..

If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right! Haha, but seriously, we need to keep those guys. Dupuis will definitely take the penguin tattoo discount, hope cooke rewards the organization's patience during his reformation.

I still think Morrow could be better served on Geno's line and Iggy w/ Sid. That is where I really think the best lines are. Dupers would dominate with Sutter still.

But hey - can't complain. I love where this team is going if fully healthy.

I would rather have short controlled breakouts than the stretch passes that never put the puck in the hand of your best players.

I think the transition game will be fine when we're healthy minus Martin. Despres, Letang, and Niskanen on their own pairings. 1 pmd and 1 tank on each pair.

I just looked. He's the only one with an expiring contract who fits the PMD bill (in theory, you could acquire a guy without an expiring contracts and then worry about moves in the summer)

Really, that's the question: With Orpik and Murray already dressing, who would you rather have for Round 1 (with Martin out) if something happens to one of Tanger, Nisky, or Despres . . . Engo or Whitney?

Note: A firing squad is NOT an option.

I especially enjoy how much sandpaper we are now playing with, to quote one of my all time favorites, they "wont back down"!

Point taken...I just can't see him being well received here by us or any other fans...

If Whitney came cheap, I wouldn't hate it. He won't, because Edmonton needs him and they're in the hunt. He could be the #6 here and be insulated.

PitHockey22 came in to the Iginla to Boston thread and told everyone to not go to sleep because Iginla was going to Penguins. This is almost 2 hours before anyone else knows and the deal to Boston was "done"

2 days prior to the Morrow trade he predicted that one to.

Who he is? We don't know but he has some crazy sources.

He also edited his comments and deleted his account.

Rough day for Sid. Show up and watch Bylsma put 40 goal guy James Neal and the iconic Jarome Iginla on Malkin's line and then have Brooks Orpik hit you in the face with a slap shot. Nice.

It could be one of his kids, or someone that knows one of his kids. Shero said, post Iginla trade, that he called his kids up and told them they were getting Iginla -- comically, they responded "no you aren't!" at first, having seen all the Boston coverage.

Whoever it is, if the account was deleted, that's pretty telling. Or it could just be a huge coincidence. But that'd be mundane...

And if something God forbid happens to one of those three, or even if Despres really struggles?

I'm not saying to mortgage the farm, but the last thing in the world you want is Engo in the top six along with Orpik and Murray and Eaton. Shero has the cap space and no roster limitations. Why not if it's a deal that doesn't involve a consequential asset? I don't care if the acquisition never sees the ice. In fact, I prefer that he doesn't. BUT, 'all in' means 'all in', no?
