Would Curtis Hamilton be enough for Torres?

We have good assets that we can sell high on to teams who strike out on the top players available come deadline day.

A team who missed on Iginla could be interested and desperate for Hemsky, same goes for Khabi and Whitney and to a lesser extent Jones and potter.

I wonder, but it wouldn't be the worst trade for us. I think I'd do Hamilton for Torres.

I would too, absolutely.

I'd love to have Raffi back on our side.

Torres to me has too much suspension history and little use. Don't want a guy who has Shanahans watchful eye on his every move.

I'd trade the first round pick....to move up in the draft

I don't think we will be making any cup runs this year but I would much rather have Ott than Clowe. Originally San Jose was asking for a 1st, 2nd, and a prospect. Which is ridiculous for a guy who hasn't even scored a goal this year.

Ott has a cap hit just under 3 million and is signed for next year as well. Clowe is just under 3.5 million and is a upcoming UFA. Ott will probably come cheaper and you have him for another year.

If we traded a smaller prospect and Anaheim's 2nd for Ott I think that would be great acquisition.

No thanks to Torres. I know he brings a lot to the table, but he brings a lot good and bad and I can't stand predatory players like Torres. Pass.

I agree with this, raffi is the last person i'd want around our young guys.

I'm okay with doing nothing at deadline. I think our first will be an incredibly valuable asset this summer as teams try to get under the cap.

I agree completely, Ott is a much better fit for the Oil. When I watch Clowe play I see a player who can't skate well enough to keep up with our speed. Can't help but think he is the next Cheechoo or Heatly, once the skating drops off there isn't anything else.

Agreed on going after Ott. It's not just for this season either which is big.

I'm not convinced he "brings as much to the table" as alot of people want to be pretend he does.

If it's possible, I would rather bring in Chimera over Torres.

No to Raffi.

Even if his alleged background is just a rumour, the last thing the Oilers need is for Hall, Eberle, Nuge, et. al to come down with a case of the "sniffles."

Coyotes looking to deal?

"Other than Shane Doan, there's nobody that we wouldn't trade if the deal was right for us. Some players obviously more than others."

Maloney admitted he received a "very, very credible" offer for Yandle during last summer's NHL Draft, which prompted him to explore the interest league-wide.

Setting the source aside for discussion sake, I wonder what that offer was?

There was talk we offered Gagner and Paajarvi.

Not the worst offer and it looks a lot better now.

Ott would be perfect for us - plays physical, has some offense and is good on faceoffs.

Does Hemsky, 2013 2nd & Hamilton get Buffalo thinking?

It was probably what we offered. Gagner and Paajarvi
I wouldn't do that trade now though

Wasn't it rumoured the Oilers offered up Paajarvi + Gagner for him?

Edit: Beaten, I really should start refreshing my tabs before posting.

I really like the idea of bringing in Ott, but he won't "cost" that much and if Buffalo is rebuilding-ish, Hemsky may not hold the highest value.

I think the cost will be high on him - he's the player that a lot of teams will be looking for. Although I will concede that Hemsky may not be the best fit for Buffalo. But if I'm Tambo, I'm doing everything I can to acquire Ott.

I don't do "everything", I wouldn't move the Oilers' 1st for Ott, but I would do alot.

I wonder if Stafford could be acquired for a fairly minimal amount, because he's been underwhelming for them.
