Curious, how many scouts do the Bruins employ and where are they tonight?

Dunno but one is at the Sharks game...no reps from Montreal there.

I do not want Chia to get into a bidding war over Ryan Clowe. Chia should make a fair offer and let the chips fall. I am not particularly sure I want a sign and trade just in case he is a bust (since he isn't scoring at the moment).

Brought over from the other thread:

Quote:
Everyone is talking about Clowe, and he may very well be one of Chia's targets, but didn't he say the other day that he may have to start looking at players with term left on their contracts?

Also, given the way the team has been playing of late, maybe Chia goes for a shakeup rather than just a UFA add? Just something to think about.
I think it is clear the team needs defensive upgrades, and I think Chia may look at some defensemen with contracts, mostly because I am not convinced there is a pending UFA defenseman that can really work on our middle pairing and that IMO is where the giant hole is.

I also think if Chia is looking for guys with contracts he is probably looking at moving some roster players and I think that may be something he needs to do at this point.

This team is currently anemic and needs a blood transfusion. Perhaps changing some players out for new players will help. I am not sure it can really make things worse.

Chia is desperate on a couple fronts. He looks like a total noob after what the Flames did to him and the pressure is getting bad in the Hub city and has to make a move which means way over pay for your 5th or 6th option.

I'm actually pretty worried.

Especially the Bruins.

But he might be a good fit and a worthwhile pick up.

Anyone know his current contract status?

That would be worse than not getting Iginla.

Hold your horses, with the right moves the Bruins could go the distance.

I don't know...if Clowe goes to the Habs for a 2nd, Chia might take some flak, but if he goes to the Habs for a 1st and Jared Tinordi (not saying that would actually happen) he will look like a genius for not overpaying. I think Chia knows that Clowe is a player he would like to have, but that he is not the be all and end all, so I think he will set his value and not over extend for him. Or at least I hope that's what he does.

Signed for one more season at 5.3 cap hit..Pretty decent just dump Horton..Pominville will put up 60-70 pts annually

We haven't had a guy get 70pts in 4 years.

Just checked on Pominville-it looks like he has one year at 5.3 million cap hit which the Bruins could swing if they don't re-sign Horton (and I admit I do not want them to re-sign him-pre concussion Horton yes, but post concussion Horton no).

Probably looking for a package slightly better than Iginla. Any package for Clowe is too much given the fact we have a bunch of grinders on the team already. Honestly don't see what the 2012-2013 version of Clowe would bring that would upgrade anywhere. Call buffalo and get a deal done

We'll let Horton go and everyone will be pining for him by Christmas 2013. Just like Ryder.

Pominville would be a good pick up even if he produced 50 points-I am just not convinced Sabres would even talk to Chia about a trade-division rival and all that.
