Claim Kaberle off the waivers if you want him so bad... We don't want Komisarek back, no matter how many times this proposal is suggested.

makes more sense then ever for the swap...

both teams could see if either player can regain some sort of worthwhile performance level with their former team, if not, they get the amnesty buy-out this summer.

if the habs are really particular, they could require toronto to keep the 250K salary difference.

since neither player is playing, can't hurt either side.

It's a nothing to lose type of deal. Hope that a change of scenery can do either/both guys good.

Yeah but the team can handle his cap hit. And they are in the 20's in GA. If he was good and useful why wouldn't they stomach the caphit to have him on the team?

Not happening from a Habs point of view.

Kabele has only played in 10 games this year and has not been injured. That means that he has been a healthy scratch 24 times now. The Habs have called up Tinordi, Pateryn and Beaulieu from the AHL to play and let Kaberle sit in the press box.

Now what I will say is that Kaberle has looked OK when he got ice time. He still can play in the NHL. Only as a bottom pair D man but he can still play. I just feel that what Montreal is doing to him is the same thing as what the told Scott Gomez at the start of the year. They told Gomez to just go home and do not play this year, not even in the AHL. You can not buy out an injured player that was Montreals reasoning. I am assuming that they are doing the same with Kaberle. I just checked and his last game played was January 19th.

Now if their were no compliance buy outs at the end of the year I would do that deal. Very good proposal and I feel that the value is there for both sides. I personally would rather have Komisarek over Kaberle currently.

Kaberle in his prime > Komisarek in his prime.
Kaberle right now > Komisarek right now.

How can the Habs win in that deal?
TO adds a 5th and its closer. Because our garbage is better than yours.

how does this make sense? both prime buyout candidates - with cap down next year. Bergevin already auditioning cheap rookie 6th dmen --bouillon just resigned and Markov excellent chemistry with Emelin.

o yeah, kaberle just waived. this is absolutely not. going. to. happen

Out to the pastures for both. Calgary is the only real option for them. Maybe they can learn to lasso and become a sideshow at the Stampede this summer.

Oh yeah, he looked terrific in his limited playing time at the NHL level. The problem, and it's totally understandable, is that the Leafs are just so incredibly deep, how could he possibly crack the lineup?

I mean, with solid veteran defensemen with the pedigree and skillsets or Mark Fraser and Mike Kostka and Kolbanian Holzer how could any player realistically expect to make that team?

Komisarek looked terrific with the Leafs, and I'm sure he could find a home on 29 other teams defense cores, but when you've accumulated incredible talent like Fraser and Kostka and the supremely skilled John Michael Liles and the list goes on and on, how can Komisarek possibly expect to measure up?

man, if we had Phaneuf as our no.1 defenseman, we would have already won the cup.

Agreed, if not for his salary Kaberle would be playing somewhere right now. Komi on the other hand....
