This made me think of the Columbus clock controversy

Quote:
"Those clocks are sophisticated instruments that calculate time by measuring electrical charges called coulombs Ė given the rapidity and volume of electrons that move through the measuring device the calibrator must adjust at certain points which was the delay you see. The delay is just recalibrating for the clock moving too quickly during the 10Ė10ths of a second before the delay. This insures that the actual playing time during a period is exactly 20 minutes.

Thoughts? Size isnt there, but some great potential.
Huh, thought Zach Yuen was pretty well-regarded. Winnipeg didn't sign him? Wonder what happened there? That means he goes back into the draft I guess. I dig that pick Can't pretend I know much about the rest.

Yeah I guess something happened with him and the Jets and he decided to re-enter the draft, I'm not exactly sure what happened between them.

Miles Bell. Big tough physical overage kid who can step in now and contribute. AND he's a LW.

I want him too, but I'm not sure where he goes. He was also a Defenseman prior to this year, so the ability to play both positions would be great for the roster.

Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Chevaldayoff had an interview about it and basically said that Yuen has not progressed as they had hoped. It was pretty shocking to many Winnipeg fans including myself who had him as the #2 LD prospect in the system after D Arturs Kulda (who is likely KHL bound for good after his mistreatment this year). So really the Jets now have only Tobias Enstrom and Mark Stuart (UFA 2014) as LD now and in the future.

I agree. He is a great prospect. He's also a great skater as he used to figure skate when he was younger.

I am not nearly as up on this draft as I am most years, but Iíve seen a fair bit of most of those guys....

Iím not crazy about Yuen. I donít think heís progressed a ton and for me thatís a huge red flag for a defenceman. That seems to be a unifying trait for a lot of defencemen who bust. Heís a nice skater, heís smart, but I think thereís a lack of urgency in his game.

I didnít see as much of Geertsen as I did last year, but I like his game. Heís got some work to do, but I think he would be a nice pick late in the third round. I think if heís given time to develop in the A, heíll be a solid pro.

That might be a little high for Ully, but Iím a fan and I wouldnít mind taking a shot at him in the last couple of rounds. Heís got a lot of physical maturing to do, but he can skate. I would really like to see a little more speed in the system and I think he would be a reliable bottom six guy with a little bit of offensive upside.

I donít think Bjorkstrand is a DL kind of guy. To me heís lesser Martin Frk. I liked Frk last year at 30, but I think we can find a better fit at the end of the second round than Bjorkstrand. And he might not even be there at that point...
