I mean in general alot of people have been hating on this year when he has actually been not as bad as he was earlier.

We are injured right now, thats understated. Yeah we need scoring but having Ebbett and Pinnizzotto on your 3rd line really isn't going be great.

It would be great to add more skill, but at what cost and is it worth it judging by where this team is now? I don't know if it is the right time.

As for the proposal, if the Oilers are giving up Jordan Eberle or Nail Yakupov, they sure as hell better be getting a defenseman back who is a lot better than Edler. Someone the caliber of Ryan McDonagh, P.K. Subban or Adam Larsson
Rankings at the start of the year:

Edler 60

Subban 112

McDonagh 164

Larrson 277

How much better do you want for Eberle. The guy is 23 years old now and still disappears for stretches .

Edler is a quality defense man. Both ends of the ice. In fact, forget it. Yak or nothing.

Do you watch the games with your eyes open? Edler has been the Canucks worst defender on so many occasions this season. Not to mention who the hell wants to inherit him with those back issues at that contract.

Lol well you can stick to your little rankings there bud, because Subban and McDonagh are both better defenseman than Edler while being younger, and Larsson is well on his way to being better than Edler too

Lol Yak or nothing? So last draft if the Oilers called asking about Edler you'd say 1st overall or nothing? Edler is not going to get any of the 4 kids from Edmonton, they are all well on their way to becoming stars in this league (Hall and Eberle already are), so unless you've got a better d-man, Edler won't cut it

You cant get Subban or Larsson. I am living in reality, you are not.

Get with it, you don't want younger players. You are too young.

Strudswick even stated that he would not trade Eberle or Yak for Edler

You cant just keep adding kids. The Oilers are a bad few games away from having another kid. How are you going to sign these guys down the road ?

Your team had to purposefully TANK to get those first overall picks. Since our organization knows how to draft, we got Edler in the 3rd round.

If you knew anything about developing your players from the draft, your team wouldnt need to tank to get the best players by default

Edler is worth every much as Yakupov is worth . You cant project what he 'might' become. He might bolt back to the KHL too.

I understand you are trying to get into a fight but I dont have time for that kind of nonsense anymore.

In fact, why would someone (Canuck or Oiler fan) put up a proposal between two teams that has virtually no chance of ever happening. We would never trade core pieces between division rivals.

Go ask the Pens how they can afford to pay Crosby & Malkin 8.7m, along with 5mil cap hits for Fleury, Neal, and Martin. Oilers already have Hall and Eberle extended at 6mil next season. The other players will be coming in at amounts not higher then those.

Just wondering what your basis for the "Yakupov might go to the KHL" statement is. And I'd take a look at your recent draft history before you go around claiming draft superiority. Vancouver hasn't made a relevant pick in years.

Edler is a good dman not worth a 1st overall ainec. Yakupov will be dominating in a few season Edler will still just be a good dman.

Both had to leave the Canucks to become relevant. Nice try though.

You said the Canucks didn't draft anyone of relevance recently. It doesn't matter who they play for now, they were drafted by the Canucks.

Grabner had a hatrick on his 2 way contract with the Canucks. He won fastest skater in the league in the skills comp.

Either way, the fact is, sure Yakapov is a first over all pick but a first over all pick to the Oilers is not worth what a first is to other teams. A top D man under a decent contract is worth more to the Oilers then another 18 year old is.

I was going to save you a bit of embarassment and let this comment go ignored, but, well, you've earned the dunce cap, you wear it.

Top scoring centers in the NHL, ranked 10 - 15

Mikko Koivu
Jonathan Toews
Anze Kopitar
(tie) Sam Gagner
Patrice Bergeron
HENRIK SEDIN
Joe Thornton
Nicklas Backstrom

You still think Gagner is only worth Keith F'ing Ballard?
