It's risky to a degree because of the same division, but Edler gives us that top pairing d-man we really need, and you can't really pick or choose where you can acquire them from.
Edler has become a bit of a scape goat for Nucks fans but there's no doubt he's a top pairing defenseman. I would also be tempted in a Ryan/Edler deal but we would need to replace Ryan via other means which is the problem in moving him for a defenseman.

Not sure about the Pittsburgh situation but one would have to assume they re-sign Malkin even with the new CBA. I could see them sacrifice Letang for Malkin since the have a plethora of young promising d-man in the pipeline.

If they plan on moving on from Iginla and Morrow or whoever a Ryan/Letang deal could make some sense.

I don't want to move him. I just feel like the org. isn't that high on him. They've had him on a short leash. just think he's getting traded

And that's where Linholm got the nickname 'Drago', because he will break you.

I really doubt Pittsburgh moved Letang. They'll keep Letang/Crosby/Malkin and sacrifice depth guys to make it happen IMO.

Amnesty Souray and possibly Allen. That's all I'm sure of at the moment.

(Unless we can find a trading partner who will give us a late draft pick or future considerations)

If Koivu doesn't come back, Bones should be 3rd line center. Defense is issue here, not forward group. I'd move Ryan for right deal, but its not a must.

The defense is a mess though. Lovejoy and Lydman should both be back IMO. Move 2 of Allen, Souray, and Sbisa. Preferably all 3. We need another top 4 defenseman.

Palmieri-Getzlaf-Perry
Ryan-Bonino-Etem
Cogliano-Koivu-Winnik
Beleskey-Steckel-Maroon
Staubitz

Beauchemin-FA/trade
Fowler-Lydman
Just please god not a Sbisa-Allen pair. I'm fine with Lovejoy here with someone new.

why not sign the finnish superstar Lasse Kukkonen of finnish national team. Hes a cult figure over here. I think He reminds abit of Sbisa. Are you seeing this BB?

Bones will start on the second line whether Koivu does or doesn't come back.

Could be a situation where we put Bonino on the third line to use him in Koivu's role from this season. And obviously personnel depending try Holland or someone else who could be here on the second line.

Sheldon Souray can go **** himself. I have never seen a more slower player in my life than him. Its as if he skates with weights chained to his legs. Package him and Sbisa and ship their ass out of here.

I'm not sure what the deal is with Sbisa. I'll readily admit I thought people were overrating his play in a sheltered role last season, but his play this season is just ridiculous. Whatever the problem is he needs to figure it out.

Why would we do that when we have no one other than Bonino that has earned a shot?

Perry had a disgraceful season. Played an entire season with Getz in beast mode, on a back of better contract than Getzlaf, and didn't feed off it. Pretty pathetic.

As a top 6 forward, would Glencross be an option? Granted I'm not sure if they are blowing it up completely in Calgary or what. But I'd feel he'd be a pretty good option as a Top 6 LW, could put him on the top line, or the 2nd line.

His point totals aren't out of this world, but has become a solid goalscorer the last 3 seasons, plays with an edge and is on a decent contract till the end of 2016.

Glencross would be nice, and it wouldn't cost us a massive asset to land.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out the lockout just screwed with Perry. It wouldn't be the first time a player needed a season to pull himself together after a lockout.

It seems to me (others may not see it) that Perry just hasn't been the same with Boudreau.

That's always the big concern, along with the heightened injury risks.

Speaking of which, we need to find out who was playing injured before we can start assessing the team.

I agree. We may end up seeing a long list of injuries. It's easy to let the emotions of the loss get the best of you, but really, we need more information. If this was just a very beat up team, it would explain a lot about this series.

I think a lot of guys in the league are going to get cut some slack for that reason even if it isn't the case. And I hope Bobby is at the top of the list. He needs to go. He has no chemistry with anybody and a change of coaches from one he disliked to one he seems to like had no positive impact on his overall play. Get him the **** out of ANA.

There were plenty enough teams interested in him before that we should still get good value and not just dump him. Yes, somebody needs to fill his spot but it doesn't have to be a 30 goal scorer. It just needs to be a 20 goal guy who play hard every night and contributes nightly. Whether that is somebody we get for Bobby or a home grown product doesn't matter. I'd love to trade Bobby for a top notch D and see Etem earn a top 6 role. Of course I'd still love to trade Bobby for Simmonds straight up but I don't know if Homer would do that.
