I guess we will find out if Ribiero is on the market later today. Caps play at 7ET. If he's scratched he's on the move. If he's not Washington is going to ride it out IMO.

I don't think Murray is looking for a center. Every year we point out that hole, and every year analysts say we are looking, and nothing is ever done. If Murray adds someone, it'll be a wing or another defenseman.
I think a 2c is pointless, with Holland/Bonino doing well enough to take that spot.

I would say for future the Defence is more important, considering 4 of our current 6 D are over 30.

There was a report that he was willing to re-sign with them even though he rejected their initial offer. So, that would make sense.

They wanted to sign for 3 years, he said no but that he still wants to remain in washington.

Man, you stired up all kinds of emotions when you brought Pahlssons name up... Well if nothing else, the Stars should be an easier team to play for the next two.

The best part of hearing how bad our defense is by certain fans.... Is the fact they want to trade for another yet tell us how Lindholm and Vatanen are ready also.

What are we going to run 4 different pairings now? lol

Lindholm/Vatanen are not the answer and its quite simple. They are OD.

With Fowler as OD, and Sbisa in the middle. Thats to many offensive minded Defence unless one can really step into a more DFD role.

If it turns out they are both NHL caliber defence I could see one being moved for a shutdown D in the future. But until the team knows for sure how well they will preform in the NHL, they won't be going anywhere.

Team needs more shutdown players to replace Lydman, Allen, Beauch as their age creeps up. So if any trade happens I expect for it to be a defensive Dman this year.

Eric Johnson's name has been thrown around... I'm not sure he's that good. Seems to be shaky every game i see him play. He's definitely the kind of D-man i'd love to pick up though.

EJ+Stastny for Vats, Holland, 2nd?

I know. Lindholm is quite the Offensive Dynamo.

What? Lindholm is not a OFD. He's a two-way guy.

Don't make that offer on the trade boards. That is awful.

Yeah I realized it after I wrote it... What about Lindholm, Holland, 2nd?

Does Stastny have much value anymore? If so maybe change it to a 1st...

If Lindholm is the asking price, Ducks hang up very, very quickly.

The salary cap says that won't happen.

We're not trading Lindholm. We also can't take on all that salary.

Well I haven't seen him play one game, just going by what I heard on draft day how he is always jumping on and driving the rushes and has such good offensive vision. A player comparable to Fowler.

Just going by what I have read.

TSN had his comparables as OEL and Pietrangelo at the draft, so not quite the same sort of player as Fowler. Skating is in a similar range, but a bit slower.

I believe so. They offered him a few days ago for Iginla, so maybe he's still on offer.

Alright, it still leaves open no young shut down defence.

We've got Clark and O'Brien for that.

MacDermid and Payne were the prospects in the Jagr deal.
