Red Sox sellout streak coming to an end?

Claims of team to be preparing for they feel is a matter of when it will happen.

Quote:
BOSTON (AP) -- Boston Red Sox president Larry Lucchino stood in an empty Fenway Park to discuss the improvement to the ballpark for the upcoming season.

At the home opener on Monday, all those seats will be filled.

On Wednesday, maybe not.
Not since May 15, 2003, has there been an unsold seat at baseball's oldest ballpark.

I hope the streak doesn't end but if it does then it just goes to show that attendence issues come about no matter how much interest there is in the team and the sport for that matter.

The sellout streak has been known to be a fraud for awhile now anyway

Not taking anything away from that performance...but the ball flies out of Miller almost as easily as in Coors. Imperfect stat, but Miller topped the league in home run factor last year and it wasn't even close (1.631 is almost a pre-humidor Coors figure).

About to head off to Dodger Stadium for the first time to see my Buccos get swept this weekend. The Pirates have been swept their last two times in LA, are 4-16 here since 2006, and have lost their last 11 or 12 games I've seen in person (including 3 in San Diego last season).

Greinke vs. Sanchez...this one could be ugly.

I guess the Giants can pitch.

4 games into the season, Giants' starters still have not allowed an earned run. Zito goes 7 shutout innings today. Their rotation up to this point:

26 IP
12 hits
2 runs (0 ER)
22 K, 12 BB

Lincecum is responsible for 7 of those walks, too.

Tied game, bases loaded and forced to pitch to Chris Davis right now. Talk about a bad spot for a pitcher.

I was going to say as good as Nats starters have pitched so far but then again Jordan Zimmerman gave up a run yesterday.

Jonathan Sanchez? My heartfelt apologies for what you probably are about to go through. Ah, how many times he induced mind-numbing frustration when he was with the Giants. So dominant yet even more erratic. One can accurately sum up Jonathan Sanchez' Giants' career with one pitching line from a start in 2010:

5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 10 K

He would be absolutely unhittable and then BOOM the wheels would fall off. Still, he was the Giants' best starter down the stretch in 2010 and his first playoff start was one of the most dominant performances by a lefty in postseason history. I don't know what happened to him after his second playoff start in Game 2 of the NLCS. I thought he was just tired and he would be fine once they shut him down for the year. But he never recovered. I hope he can find some of his old form with the Pirates. I doubt it will happen, but I want to see him do well again. Kind of figure if Righetti couldn't fix him, he's a lost cause.

He's so hot you might as well walk him with the bases loaded.

He should be embarrassed to allow a run to the Marlins.

The Jays fans are a bunch of idiots. According to them Farrell was the worst manager ever but they're still crying about him leaving. Now booing Farrell while he comes out to check on Iglesias after he got hit with a pitch.
