Montreal/Calgary

Not exactly sure the value, but throwing out a feeler;

TO CALGARY

1st Round Draft Pick (2013)
Nathan Beaulieu
Yannick Weber (roster spot)

TO MONTREAL

Mark Giordano
Laurent Brossoit

EDIT: Removed a draft pick.

As a flames fan, yes. I don't think a Habs fan would agree though. That's almost Bouwmeester value

I'd rather have Giordano than Bouwmeester.

Giordano is locked up long-term to a solid contract. Would be a great replacement for Subban (Subban being Markov's replacement of course).

2 1sts a 2nd and weber for a 2nd pairing guy and a prospect goalie! Yikes no thanks from Montreal.

You over-rate Giordano.

Then I'd say a 1st and Beaulieu would probably suffice

Never in a million years!!! First off Louis Leblanc has nowhere near the same value as beaulieu and I don't give up beaulieu unless the return is substantial

I had Beaulieu with a 2nd and 3rd originally, but removed it cause I wanted to make it easier to read. I'll remove the 2nd.

no. the Habs are much better off keeping those pieces. that offer could ( or almost ) net you an elite player. why go after Giodarno?

Giordano has struggled offensively this year, but so has Calgary as a whole.

He plays more minutes than all of our defenseman except Markov. Giordano is a good #2 and fantastic #3 signed to a cap friendly hit for years.

Subban, Giordano, Gorges, and hopefully Diaz as our Top-4 for years and years would be amazing with Emelin/Tinordi as our bottom pairing, as well as Dietz/Thrower coming up as well.

On an average team, Giordano's a solid top 2 guy while on a good team, he's a really good top 4 guy who can jump up to the first pairing when needed. I wouldn't say overrating. But ya the values a bit off

And beaulieu has potential to be a good 2nd and fantastic 3rd so you give that up and all the rest for a guy who does the same

I'd want gio but not at this price hell no!!!

Yeah, I think the 2nd + 3rd + Beaulieu was a better offer, but I erased it. If I was a GM, I would have never led off with that offer, but since this is just fantasy, it's better to start off high than low, so the other team's fans don't go nuts.

I don't see Beaulieu as a top pairing guy, but that's just me.

I'd rather move Leblanc, but I think Calgary would prefer the defense, considering their cupboard is very weak.

During the Detroit - Chicago game this afternoon all the commentator agreed that bouwmeester wasn't a top 2 dman , he was mostly a 3-4 ! And after that one of the guy said that giordano was a good 3-4 as well ! I personally wouldn't give nothing significant for one or the other !

I wouldn't offer more then Leblanc + weber + 2 round nsh

Actual talent >>>> Potential talent. HF likes to overlook that. But ya he's a decent prospect and it would take a really good player to move him.

Anyways, the return for Gio Calgary fans agreed on is a 1st and a decent prospect. Maybe not Beaulieu level though

A 1st and Leblanc (who has struggled due to injury this year) might be better value then.

No no you don't understand the difference between beaulieu and Leblanc isn't a prefer option... They could desperately need forwards and if you call saying "hey Leblanc or beaulieu" they'll Take beaulieu without a moments hesitation

It's like asking dyou want a 2009 Honda civic or a 2011 BMW....

Did you watch him play yesterday he already has incredible vision

Lol maybe Gio, but not Bouw, it's pretty much agreed upon that he's a top 2 guy. Comentators aren't always hockey experts. They're just good at talking...

Do not want to give up Brossoit at all, but this is a good offer. If I was Feaster I would think about it.

Yeah not a horrible proposal or anything but i just don't think i'd do this from Montreal's POV. Maybe with Leblanc instead of Beaulieu though.

I do understand the difference, I just wasn't sure if I would get blasted out of the forum or not for it.

Originally (Baerstcheese can vouch), I had 1st (mtl)+2nd(nsh)+Leblanc or 2nd (nsh)+3rd(dallas)+Beaulieu.

Yes, Beaulieu has incredible vision. He's also mediocre (at best) defensively.

Montreal better not trade Beaulieu....they may have something there. Offer Tinordi and a first instead?

Before this year we got a lot of attention for it in Hamilton and he's fine now didn't look out of place at all
