Hawks after Frans Nielsen

http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2...rts/703309860/

Doesn't fix faceoff problem nor is he a #2 C

But he would be better fit for 2nd line C and would allow Bolland to fall back to 3rd line/Shaw back to wing

Saad-Toews-Kane
Sharp-Nielsen-Hossa
Bickell-Bolland-Shaw
Stalberg-Kruger-Frolik
(Carcillo/Mayers)

I can live with that forward group going into playoffs

I think Nielsen has untapped potential offensively and might get chance to finally show it playing with guys like Sharp/Hossa (Possibly Kane instead of Hossa)

It would require an overpayment and to most fans like myself he is not expendable

CHI only do that if NYI's first is coming back also.

So that will never happen.

Nielsen is the type of guy you have to overpay for because he's worth more to the team than his trade value.

I don't see him getting moved

I'd say a 1st and Teravainen would bring back more than Frans Nielsen...

Islanders are still in contention for a playoff spot.

I understand they have the cheapest ownership in the league, but if they buy at the TDL they get at least two home playoff games which brings in major $$$

I'd be willing to drive Briere to the airport for that price

Not to mention them making the playoffs would start bringing back more fans and more revenue. Them getting into the playoffs helps with picking up more fans for when they move to the new stadium as well.

The responses in this thread will be hilarious when/if Nielsen's traded in the coming days. I'd be willing to give up quality for him, but the fan suggesting it would take a 1st and Teravainen is just hilarious.

If he is moved, and thats a very big if, it wont be in the middle of a playoff race.

It would make more sense if the Isles were out of the playoff race...

Also if Frans is involed in a trade see him as being part of a package not traded for prospects...

Striet makes more sense imo

That's an awful lot. If it wasn't for Tera's size, I think he'd have gone top 5 at the last draft. That's not an awful overpayment, but you wouldn't get that much.

I could see Tera+ (very small plus) or 1st+ (a decent plus).

Streit is awful ,, I see no reason for Hawks to be involved for him unless they can dump Oduya somehow off on Islanders or the Isles take Montador off the Hawks hands (Streit contract expires this summer ,, Monty has 2 more years)

i totally agree

but why give Chicago exactly what they need without extracting a premium

especially when we have no need to trade him

Bowman has a habit of taking advantage of teams in trade
like the Leddy trade

I prefer not to be the next sucker

Fair enough, I can respect that. You'd want an overpayment, which is OK.

I can see the Isles looking at options when the season is over, but trading Nielsen now would kill morale. The team is on the cusp right now.

Maybe at the draft, not at the deadline.

Lu for Nielsen+Nabby, I do NOT want Nielsen going to the blackhawks under any circumstances.
